No answeres what so ever!!!!

I'm looking to get a FULL refund from cyberlink for the discracefull PD10. £65 of me for re arranging everything. NO new transitions NO new title effects, NO new effects. What a piss poor effort. You've done nothing but re-colour stuff and make the display look different, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED.

Sony vagas here I come.

I LOVED PD8 and there was me thinking PD10 would be full of new and wonderful things, oh how wrong was I.

A VERY DISSAPOINTED MR S. SYKES.

This is a USER forum, there is very little contact here with Cyberlink the company.
No new transitions = true, and all the page-turns are still ass-backwards.
No new title effects = not quite true, sorta. Same old titles but with a 3D twist.
No new effects= not quite true, sorta. NewBlue plug-ins are now available, but not totally working properly yet.
More slideshow options, more output options, 3D, more auto-movie options,
more possibilities with better work-flow due to the 100 tracks all being "PIP" style tracks. Skewing of images/video.
Better audio control with a normalize function, beat detection, and Wave Editor.
Smartsound multi-track files can now be utilized, though not the music layers, so it's 1/2 a slice there.
64-bit application, faster everything, more RAM usage.
10 is quite a step up from 8. Not without issues, though. Unless you get the full version with the 2 downloads of content, it's difficult to gauge.

Place a title in a timeline above the FX track.
Choose QUAKE effect and place in FX track. Works well, but will affect any video in the timeline above it, so it has it's limits unless you pre-produce on it's own with a green-screen to chroma-key out later.
There has also been an improvement to the Chroma-key function, though it's not perfect either, but better.

G'day Steve -

This might help with your titles http://youtu.be/LOSTXFTr1lk

As Barry said, using effects in titles has limitations if you have images or video clips in the background... that's where chroma key is necessary.

Cheers - Tony

"Does anyone use this forum???"

Well apparently so, all you had to do was look..... duh....

What a piss poor effort. You've done nothing but re-colour stuff and make the display look different, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED

If you are a PD8 user and have ever been in the forums you should already know that no one in here works fo Cyberlink nor does Cyberlink ever look in here...

I threw my copy of sony vegas away... it does nothing compared to what I can do in Power Director... even when I had PD 5,6,7,8,9,10....

PD 10 ain't PD8.... just some of the old things are still there.... and some things that are not there....

Nohting new? Hmmmmmmmm lets see, 99 tracks at the same time... gee.... I think that's new, and fun by the way.... blue ray is new, 3D is new.... hmmmmmmmm......... but you need a good computer to run it.....

Your right.. you will probably be happier with PD8.... and disappointed with PD10. No point in wasting your money.... hope you get a refund.....

By the way............ it can be done but it ain't easy.... probably a lot more trouble than you would be interested in.........

no its not a normal function of PD... it can also be done in PD8 if I remember right... seems like I did it a couple times back then....

Dear Dogtown
There is an option for prospective buyers of Power Director 10....it has a trial down load, so a person can see the features or lack of features. I use two different video editing software programs...each has its advantages and disadvantages...no one particular video editing program is perfect for every one....so I would recommend continuing to look for the program that fits your needs the best, for me Power Director 10 fits some of my video editing needs...we are users of Power Director on this forum, and will help our fellow video editors...but venting on us will be fruitless...as we do not work for Cyberlink. Also I have noticed that some of our forum members use other video editing programs, along with Power Director. So, we all share some of your frustrations, we probably have all been there at some time or another. JoeVideo
