So do the activations only exist in produce and write disk areas of the program? I am closing in on my 30 day purchase date and have not had the chance to really use the program because i have had pnuemonia...so clearly i am concerned about these activation requirements expiring.

You need to do that or lose it... it WILL go away
Just put one item in your time line, then go to produce and render in all the options. You do not actually have to render it, you just have to start the render process. You do not have to hit the start button... The same for create disk. You do not have to actually burn a disk, just get it ready to burn one. You do not have to hit the burn button.

DeAnna..
Did you get the activations done? Have any problems?
That 30 day thing has caught quite a few people in the past couple years... it is my understanding that Cyberlink has to pay a licensing fee when those are activated. Not sure how true that may be. I don't understand why they don't just include/add it in the price and pay the fee when PD is registered...

Went through them all and activated them with no problem! just hope i got them all..went through them all twice so surely i didn't miss anything. I agree with you on how they should deal with that but all is well and got it done.
3. Internet connection is required for activating some import/export formats, including AVCHD, Blu-ray Disc, DVD, H.264, & MPEG-2. The activation is quick and easy.

This just baffles me on the "why and reason" they set it up this way. Makes no sense and even further more the lack of information they provide to the new user upon purchasing the product.
But aside from that, i am very pleased with the experience i have had with PD over the last day or two playing around with it so far.

It baffles us also...... of course those of us that do not have blue ray yet are screwed also... I have no real reason for blue ray, BUT I would like to get a BD burner and play with it......
