I use the Power DVD 12 (still in trial version) on my computer (configuration below). I see my movies perfectly but when exit the program the "EFFECT OF COLOR 3D" does not turn off automatically. It is like that or is the trial version, or is there a PATCH. Thank You

Motherboard - Gigabyte X58A-UD3R
Video card - GForce GTX 560 with 3D Vision
Memory - 16 Gb
OS - Win 7 Pro 64 bit

I don't know, but the first thing I am suspecting is the driver. Do you know which GeForce driver version you're using?

If not, then perform the following steps:

1. Right-click the Desktop
2. Choose "NVIDIA Control Panel" (there are other ways to open it, but this is about the easiest)
3. Click "System Information" which is located at the bottom left-hand corner (all the way on the bottom in the lower-left corner)
4. The driver version is listed in the white area of the box that opens up. It is the first number at the top of the list in that white area.

If you do not have the NVIDIA Control Panel, it may indicate that you either have the generic Microsoft Windows driver, or just simply the GeForce driver that Microsoft releases through Windows Update. If this ends up being the case, then I can help you replace it with the one obtained directly from NVIDIA's website.

I'm not saying that this will turn out to be the solution, but it's just that this is one of the things I would check out if it were happening to me.

I have NVIDIA Control Panel.
Version: 296.10
But I have the program TriDef 3D installed in the computer that accompanied LG 3D monitor, and it shuts down when I leave the Color 3D program.
So is the Cyberlink Power DVD 12.
Thank You.

You're welcome! Although, it's beginning to look like this may be out of my league.

However, I wonder if perhaps this is some kind of conflict with TriDef 3D.

Is TriDef 3D absolutely required in order for programs like PowerDVD 12 to use their own built-in 3D features?

I mean, I'm currently wondering what would happen if TriDef 3D were taken out of the equation. That is, if it were disabled or perhaps even uninstalled (that is, uninstalling it would be necessary for such an experiment if there's no way to disable it).

Is TriDef 3D the only way for this monitor to have 3D functionality?

Well, I uninstalled the TriDef 3D using Revo Uninstall (complete uninstall). I opened the Power DVD 12 and open a movie file. When I exit the program by clicking the (X) in the right corner over the 3D color remained on the screen. I had to disarm it manually. An important point about his observation: The version of TriDef 3D comes on the CD did not disarm the color 3D. I had to install a patch and now disarms alone. Thanks Again

Oh! So, it's all good now?

No!!! The PATCH is of the TriDef3D and no of the Power DVD12.

I guess I'm confused. I already understood that this was a patch for TriDef 3D, but I misinterpreted what you said as though this patch was the solution.

What do you mean by "I had to disarm it manually"? What steps are you taking in order to do this?

Monitor setup buttons!!!
Menu/ Color 3D effects ON/OFF
Work to my forefinger!!!!!
There is always the risk of breaking button!!
It is not a good or clever, but!!

Hmm. That seems like a slightly inconvenient solution to me.

Are you open to trying the Free Trial of Corel WinDVD Pro 11?

I don't know if it will be any different in this regard, but I guess it might be worth a try.

I saw that TriDef had discovered a bug in the monitor's firmware (see this thread) that means that whilst software can switch on the 3D colour mode it cannot switch it off. It seems the patch just stops TriDef from ever enabling the 3D colour mode, rather than fixing the problem with switching it off (which can only be fixed by upgrading the monitor's firmware).

How have you configured PowerDVD to output in 3D? Do you still have the problem if you ask it to output in row-interleaved/micropolariser mode?

Do not set up, in fact I do not know how to do this. I open the Power DVD and watch great movies and hang out. And the 3D effect does not turn off. The default setting is all automatic.
I'll try to contact LG to try to resolve this!

Click the drop-down arrow to the right of the "3D" button and change the "Display Device" tab to "Micro-polarizer LCD 3D (Row-interleaved)" instead of "Auto detect". I believe this should keep the monitor in 2D mode when PowerDVD is in 3D mode, but is still compatible with the way the monitor displays 3D. It works for me, at least, but I have a different LG monitor (DM2780D).

My model is d2342p.
It did not work, I put in 2D mode, the program opened the movie in 3D and let out the monitor with the 3D effect ON. As you said yesterday, is a bug in the monitor itself, I will contact LG. I'm hoping to get a business hours. Thank You.
