Hi All

Grrrr fist shaking at the sky gesture

MP3 files are still not playing properly even with the new patch 1424 installed.

CL assured me this would addressed - very very disappointed

Anyone else still have this problem???

Note: these files play perfectly in PD8 and no doubt in PD9

Oh well looks like I have to convert every MP3 file I own to WAV

I'm investigating Neil.

This issue came to matter to me, & was never resolved by anything expected... nor any of the silly things I was prompted to try!

Cheers - Tony

Hi mp3 users,
This issue really does need to be localised.

1. Do you have mp3's that play?
2. What are the mp3's that don't?
3. Using MediaInfo please share the data on the mp3's that do and don't?
3-1. Source of the mp3's and if editors can access and double check/replicate that would be great.
4. I'll raise the issue/this thread with CL when you're ready.

OK, I'm off to newt hunt with an underwater camera... might be a no newt afternoon as they tend to appear in the evening, (poor light etc).

Dafydd

So far, every MP3 file I've imported into PD10 (1424) has played correctly in any audio track in the timeline... no distortion or unexpected behaviour.

I have found that many of the same MP3s will NOT play at all in the Media Library or the Media Viewer.

Still haven't found a pattern to it, so I'm not up to reporting anything of worth.

Isn't it great that we get compensated so well for our ongoing beta testing! I seriously hope that someone at CyberLink takes some direct notice of the work members undertake to isolate problems & find solutions.

Cheers - Tony

Further to Tony's findings (which I can verify) please see photo and attached 'offending' MP3 file.

This Fairy Twinkle 2 MP3 file plays, then doen't, then skips, then freezes, then......... in both the import window Media Library and Media Viewer and the timeline!

I have hundreds of MP3's - mostly short sound effect clips that just won't work properly

Dafydd: I don't have MediaInfo installed, so I am unable to 'test' the clip (newted in fact) - maybe a kind member could :

Put this in my PD10 (1424) plays perfectly, also plays perfectly outside of PD10, not sure if this helps but it might if enough folk can try it as well. Intel Core i7 3770K 3.6 Ghz,

CHF,
Newted one found... saw 12 the other evening... mating season ha ha.

OK, I have an mp3 from Neil's collection which wont play in Media Library but plays without audio in the tracks but is ok in media player. I then moved the clip in the tracks and the beggar played. I went back to the media Library and the file played. Weird!

I'll use CHF collection as an example to download and for CyberLink to look at and test. The Fairy Twinkle played fine for me.

I'm not sure I'm going to get anywhere definite with my testing here.

Thanks Neil & Tony

Stream size : 88.2 KiB (100%)

♪♫♫♪ You'll be ever so excited to hear that (like kingsmeadow) "Fairy Twinkle" plays perfectly in my PD10 - Media Library, Media Viewer, Timlene (any track)

Just so you know the conditions, it's a balmy 22º inside, the curtains are drawn, my reading light is tilted slightly towards the keyboard, the wine glass is empty & there's an orange light flashing on the laser printer. Perhaps, if you could simply replicate those conditions the Farty Wrinkle might just work for you!

It played perfectly from the media library and from timeline and from media viewer. I do not have any codec packs such as k-lite or ffdshow installed on my computer. Gateway DX4380, AMD A8-5500 Quad Core 3.2GHz with ATI Radeon HD 7560D; 16GB RAM; 1 TB SATA 7200 RPM; Windows 8 Pro 64-bit; PDR11, PDVD12.

Interesting result Tony and Xerox

The Fairy Twinkle 2 sometimes plays OK in all locations in PD.

I guess it's a case of "Some computers will, some computers won't. Some computers need a lot of loving and some computers don't" Happing editing
