I just bought Power DVD 12 almost exclusively in order to be able to play one movie for my child, Horton Hears a Who. After installing, registering, and updating I get a Red screen with yellow writing saying:

Warning
Your Blue-ray Player requires an update in order to play this disc.

Followed by the rest of the standard text for this error.

So I went to LG's website and updated the firmware for my drive (LG GGW-H20L).
I then tried it again, same error.

Any idea why this is happening and what I should do next?

Hi,
can you please update which Version of the Disc you use?
we have the 2011 Version and it can playback just fine.

It is the 2-disc Digital Copy edition. I believe it was released on Dec 9, 2008. We got it right after it originally came out on Blu-Ray, so it definitely isn't the 3-disc version that came out last year.

arentol,
I get the same error in PowerDVD 11 Ultra with "The Da Vinci Code" on Blu-ray. If I wait a moment, the disc starts playing anyway, and I can dismiss the dialog box.

I'm on my second player - the first was a Samsung, the newer one is the same LG drive you have - and I got the error message on both, so I figure it's a bit of a glitch in PDVD.

Sorry to ask a dumb question, but are you sure that the disc doesn't go ahead and play if you wait a moment or two?

Hi, we are currently checking with he Disc maker about this issue.
The 2011 Version is fine and does not show this issue anymore.

And Da Vinci Code, Michael? The 2009 2-disc Blu-ray release from the UK?

Are you looking into that as well?
