What is the make and model of your drive?

To find out do this:- In Windows xp,

Right click my computer, select Properties

Select Hardware tab,

Select Device Manager,

Select DVD/CD-ROM drives,This should tell you the make and model of the drive,now double click on the drive,

Select DVD Region tab,here you should see changes remaining how many is it?

And current region make sure it is the same region as your dvd.


Do they work with any other app. eg. windows media player?

I did as you suggested & a Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-115 is installed on my computer.

There was no Region tab to click on so I can't give you the information you asked for regarding that.

I use Windows ME, where can I find out this information.

And no, DVD's won't play on Windows Media Player.

And make sure it is in the same region as your DVDs.

Has it stopped playing DVDs all of a sudden?

Have you done any upgrading to your computer?

Have you changed any settings?

Can you play a cd?

Do you have the latest firmware installed? (to find out this information you will need something like Nero Info Tool, Google to find it.) if you don't already have it.

Has the drive been used much it is six years old they don't last forever!
