Hi loving th new PD3 but where or where is the rename option - expected it to be F2 but this only renames folders and I can find no option any where - menus/right click on image etc.

Surely such a basic feature can not have been left out ?

Hello Justin,

Sorry to hear about your vexed state!

Yes - you'd think there might be a way to rename images, but it's not obvious!

F2 is for renaming a selected folder/album/tag/preset.

The only suggestions I could make are:
a. Export the photo & check "Add exported photo to current project"
b. Use "Save As" (Ctrl+Shift"+S)
- each of those options creates a "copy" of the image, so it's not renaming, as such!

It's not obvious because there IS NO WAY to do so... you are right.. a basic function that wasn't added.. Same for XMP support.. IPTC only? So 90's...

No need to post negative comments. This is working perfectly so I couldn't complain.

Wasn't negative.. just stating the obvious. If you cannot rename an image file within a DAM program.. then that DAM program is not worth using. Otherwise, your catalog and OS files get out of synch!
