Optimal Settings for Acceleration?
[Post New]
I just purchased and installed PD10 Ultra and want to get all my settings correct before I start using it. I did a search on the forums but didn't find a definitive answer. Given my system in my signature, this is what I have selected in preferences:

Program PD10 Ultra 64 ver:1129b
Preferences:---
Hardware Acceleration:
Enable OpenCL Technology: Selected.
Enable Hardware Decoding: Selected

Produce:
Reduce Video Blocky (SSE4): Selected
H.264 SVRT on single IDR H.264 Video: Unchecked

Is this correct? Has the H.264 issue been fixed or does it still result in poor transitions if selected?

Thanks for all the help thus far!

Hi Shredman

Here are my settings:

Program PD10 Ultra 64 ver:1129b
Preferences:---
Hardware Acceleration:
Enable OpenCL Technology: Selected.
Enable Hardware Decoding: Unchecked

Produce:
Reduce Video Blocky (SSE4): Unchecked
H.264 SVRT on single IDR H.264 Video: Unchecked

The settings are ultimately based upon an individual computers 'strength'.

The above settings for me work great.

The only way to find the optimum settings for your computer is to experiment on a small or large project.

When I configured my settings I noted the production times and visual quality.

Happy editing Happing editing

Best Regards

Neil

There are several threads on this topic. However, in general if you want high quality videos with minimal artifacts and smooth visual rendering do not use any of the HA features (all de-selected). If your PC is lacking power then HA will make a difference for you in terms of rendering times. Win 10, i7
