Create disc? Which to import?

I'm starting to get frustrated! Maybe I'm trying to do this too early in the morning...

So, video project... Edited, and burned to file because burning straight to disc crashed for whatever reason...

PD10 created folder Video_TS, it contains 13 files... .bup, .ifo, .vob....

I try to burn disc with Windows DVD maker, and it can find the folder but can't find the file... apparently it's looking for a .mov or .mp4 type...

So I open PD10, Create disc, options are: Import Project (tried that before on burning straight to disc & import project is looking for a .pds file), or import video. From there I double click through folder 10.0 > My Videos> Video_TS> and there are all the .vob files.

Without the .ifo and .bup files, the menu structure won't be there, correct?

If I download the software imgburn that has been recommended, do I import the Video_TS? Or what?

I am really not understanding why this is so difficult.... I hate to think that I"m going to have to go with Produce video on every project and lose the menu & chapters...

Or is my thick skull just not 'getting' something. HPg72 laptop...

Downloaded imgburn...

And was looking through the help page to make sure I was going about the burn correctly, page 2 had this..

"Do not try to create a video DVD by Adding VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS directory directly in this window.
In this first version of Free Easy CD DVD Burner, you can only create DATA DVD (not VIDEO). Your DVD
with VIDEO_TS content burned with Free CD DVD Burner will not be played by DVD-VIDEO player
."

So what do I do now? HPg72 laptop...

Hi,
In Imgburn select the DVD-Video option then 'import folder' or 'from folder' and navigate to your directory where you created the burn to folder and get that one. I would recommend lowering your burn speed on the destination burner one notch (don't use maximum burn speed.
Hope that helps.

Does not sound like you downloaded ImgBurn but rather Free Easy CD DVD burner V5.0.

For ImgBurn, just import the PD "My Video" folder into the window with the add folder icon and it will pretty much fix everything for you.

Since you have Win7 you should be able to do as I described here as well, http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/14672.page

I ended up locating the Power2Go program, and imported the video_ts folder... but ended up with 2 issues:

1) An error message: 0xEB020B8A "Closing disc failed" - however the disc seems to have all the content and plays just fine on my laptop. but I will double check on a dvd player. FOLLOW UP: disc will not play on standard dvd player

2) I failed to change the disc volume name from My_Data030512 to something more recognizeable like... "My pipeline video". Is it possible to change the disc volume name after the fact? The disc is DVD+R 8.5GB DL. Doesn't the +R make it editable after the fact?

Sorry about the power2go questions on here... I posted on the appropriate forum but ....

Should I uninstall the fake imgburn? Probably so?

Hi Christy -

I'm not sure how you ebded up with the Koyote software (Free Easy CD DVD Burner) on your system. I'd ditch it, personally.

The official Imgburn site is here http://www.imgburn.com/

After you've created your folder in PD's Create Disc module, follow the ImgBurn instructions as Jeff & James have described. Note that you need to import the "My Video" folder, not just "VIDEO_TS".

Cheers - Tony

Went there and that's where the koyote & associated crap came from... posing as imgburn. Now I'm leary of all of it.

At this point I just need to get the project out the dang door. I'll worry with fixing the disc issue later... HPg72 laptop...

I use Imgburn extensively and can confirm that it works well. Give it another try. And as pointed out earlier use "burn from folder" , folder being where your video files were burnt to by PD10. Win 10, i7

Christy -

There's no need to be concerned about the imgburn site! It's just that someone who had their hand on your mouse clicked the ad on the side of the page!

Go to this page http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download (don't let anybody click on the ad!)
and download an installer file called SetupImgBurn_2.5.6.0.exe

Cheers - Tony

Thanks Tony,

I may have isolated the problem with the disc burn down to a whole freakin' spindle of bad dvds. Apparently Memorex dvd+r DL discs are more valuable as coasters or an art project than they are as media...

I am going to go buy a spindle of verbatim and cross my fingers that that works. HPg72 laptop...

Local store didn't have any verbatims available so I'm going with the default and burn it to a 8 gig thumb drive... of which only 7.38 gig is available of the 7.45 that it says... (Grrr! Why don't they call it a 7.45 gig thumbdrive instead of a 8?!)

So now, the question is... Which format should I burn it in considering the limitations of the thumb drive?
Video folder size - 7.45 GB (8,003,018,752 bytes)
2 folders within the folder.

I'm going to give it one last try with imgburn and then I'm going with the thumb drive.

This really shouldn't be this hard. HPg72 laptop...

Are you sure they are +R DL. If memory serves (and it's been years since I used imgburn) the layer split warning occurs with -R DL.

Yep, 100%. Labeled DVD+R dual layer.

Wonder if Memorex is mislabeling? HPg72 laptop...

Much discussion on the imgburn forums. You will NOT like what you read here.
I personally would like to know what error burning gave you. I think most users here don't trust the burning aspect of PD10. Myself, I have no problems. But then I have a fairly new system.
