Are there any users of PD10 located at The Villages, FL? I have a friend who would like to use his PD10 but is having problems. Unfortunately, I live in Gettysburg, PA and the commute is a little long.
Thanks

Thanks, Barry. He's having trouble transferring video from his Canon camcorder into PD10. I've tried to walk him through many times, but he just says that he gets an error message when he tries to import files. I'm baffled, and thought that someone in his local area might be able to help him.
Once again, thanks for the reply.

You could use skype or one of many desktop share applications and watch over his shoulder as he is going through the motion.

Skype is an excellent method.
What is the model of the camcorder? Very important if it's HDV (tape) or flash, disc... HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

He doesn't have Skype and probably will never get it. The camcorder is a Canon HF20 (I believe) - HD Flash. This is where I believe the problem lies - he downloads via the USB to the provided Canon ImageMaker software. It appears that the files are downloaded, but he can't get them imported to PD10.
Any ideas?

I have an HF-20.
He needs to think of it as an external hard drive.
Connect to the computer.
Turn on the camera (must be plugged in to power).
The camera will appear as a drive.
Browse to the camera.
Find the folder STREAM for video
Photos are somewhere in there, too, I think DCIM, I forget.
Takes good photos, though.
Anyway, cut and paste, or copy and paste those folders to your drive of choice.
Oh, and the Canon software is not worth much, I never use it. Rather pointless I think.
