Okay, I am new to Cyberlink PowerDirector 10 Ultra. I've downloaded the trial version because I am looking for a program to replace my Roxio Creator. I created a file on my computer with the movies from my Panasonic HDC-HS100. I then move them to the timeline. My total length of movie was 2 hours and 38 minutes. When I go to burn this file it tells me that the file is too big and won't fit on the Bluray disc. I can take this same file and render it in Roxio and no problems. What am I NOT doing correctly? I don't have a manual yet because I haven't purchased the software so I could be missing something big. But I am not understanding how this is happening. It did tell me that the production size was 34,935 which Roxio tells me the same thing but yet it renders and burns on Roxio. Someone PLEASE help me on this cause I would really like to purchase this software but I need to make sure that it is going to work. And I know my computer is able to handle this software so that's not the issue. Thanks to anyone who can help me!!!

1. The manual is available on the support pages.

2. 2 hrs 38 min should fit on BD. But you need to give the forum members a lot more detail as to what it is that you are trying to do and with what. Please read the basics as per the top of the first page of this forum.

Your file size 35GB exceeds a 25GB BD disc capacity - so buy some 50GB discs and select that size in the drop down menu in Disc creator, it will then burn.

I imagine Roxio will simply reduce the data rate automatically to something very low, so anything will fit on a 25GB disc - fine if you don't mind lousy quality, but the point about Blu-Ray is that you are after the best possible quality, which means a certain data rate is required to achieve this.

Hope this works

Actually, the quality of the Bluray from Roxio is awesome. Ok, so I download the manual and went thru the steps again and when I went to burn it gave me this message... "The detected disc size (24880) is smaller than the estimated production size (34935). Are you sure this disc is large enough to accommodate your production?" I guess my question is is there a way to make this fit? I don't know how but Roxio seems to make this work and the quality is great. I really do want to use Cyberlink but this has got to work or it won't be worth it to me. Here's my info:
AMD Phenom(tm)II x6 1100T Processor 3.30 GHz
8 GB RAM
64 Bit
Windows 7

The info I got off of Roxio is:
VIDEO: MPEG-2 Video Encoder 1920x1080, 24fps, 30 mbps
AUDIO: PCM, stereo, 48 KHZ, 16 bit,1.46 MBPS

Hopefully, this info will help someone help me!!! Thanks

Angie25 I do not believe you can work with bluray or burn any of the HD formats with a downloaded trial version.
Kind of makes trying PD demo a waste of time doesn’t it.

But rest assured full version this all works fine.

Well Angie25, all I can say is that I have burned many BluRay discs, 25 and 50 Gbytes. Both in 3D and 2D, and they all worked for me !

The main difference between PD10 and Roxio burning BluRay is Roxio has the option to "fit to disc" and therefore could reduce resolution to make the data fit on the disc. PD10 has a different option in that you can select the type of format.

For example SD 720 X 576 50i up to HD 1920 X 1080 50i, in my case because they are PAL not NTSC.

And you need to select the BluRay size in the drop down menu if it's larger than 25GBytes.
