Hello all,

I am filming my first feature film! But I am having trouble seamlessly blending the various video segments. I am using the "SPLIT" tool, but the segments look choppy when watched together.

Should I use the "TRIM" option instead? What are my options at this point?

Thanks,
cbidnick

Choppy video, may mean your computer is underpowered.

TRIM does not change how the video is displayed, it is just another tool to edit/select segments of video.

Most of the experienced editors do not use "TRIM', we use Split and remove segments that we do not want to keep.

Post information about your computer and we can see if your computer is powerful enough to edit video.

Just to clarify, you are saying that using SPLIT is normally sufficient to edit multiple video segments and then create a seamless "movie" look?

I will also post my computer info.

It is as long as you do not leave gaps.

In PD 8 we never had to worry about getting gaps, you could not have gaps in the Main track.

In PD 9 and above you can have gaps in the main track (Track 1). There is a Right click function to remove and leave gap for special situation when you want to have a gap.

Tutorial on the basics. Tutorial made in PD 8, still applies.
