Audio problem with menu

Audio issue on second page of menu. Garbled music when reviewing edited video on page 2 of menu. I even installed PD10 on another very different machine and got exactly the same issue. Technical assistance want nearly my family history with the amount of data I am supposed to collect to let them "solve" it. And if previous issues are anything to go on, this will continue until either I give up or they do - the problem will not be solved. However on the off chance that someone knows how to fix this - could you please share your wisdom and success.

Is it your own menu audio file that you used on page 2 of the menu? If so, what extension does the audio file have?

Thanks for the reply, Jeff
It does not seem to matter what music file or extension I use. The issue still exists with the untouched menus from PD10 or downloaded menus or modified menus. And the fact that it is still the same problem on another computer I think I have exhausted all possibilities. But if you have suggestions, I'll listen.

Maybe I should also clarify the problem a little.
The music on the second page of the menus (scenes) seem to play at a much faster rate than the first page and appears garbled as a result.
Chapters must be created when editing in order to have the second page active in the menus.
However it doesn't seem to matter whether I add my own music in .mp3 or .wma format or leave the original track it is still the same result.
Even changing all music on sub menu pages gives this same garbled sound.
PD8 works fine on both computers so I guess it's a fault with PD10 however I have found only one other post on this matter and it was on Director Zone - they were told they were in the wrong posting forum..... one way to get rid of them!
I was also offered free phone support due to my purchases representing Platinum membership howevr when I wanted the service today and registered for it I was informed by email this was for US and Canada ONLY yet no mention of this in the original offer. I live in Australia and therefore am prevented from the offered free phone assistance.
Anyway, I digress, back to the issue at hand.
If anyone knows any fix for the garbled music in sub menu pages I would appreciate your assistance.

No, I have not seen that behavior so don't know exactly how to remedy. I have had a few issues with mp3's in the menu that sounded somewhat similar but no issue with wav files.

The only suggestion I have would be to try LPCM option (if avaiable) for the audio when creating the disc and hope it makes a difference. I've had the default Dolby option really play noise reduction compression issues with say a music track that is flowing water, predominantly white noise spectrum, it will sound horrible, LPCM will correct that.

Philip & Christina,

I can confirm your garbled audio on second (and subsequent) menu pages. I have been able to work around it by simply closing PD and then starting it again. The reason is that PD10 sometimes loses track of which audio track it is using and if you listen closely it is actually trying to play back 2 audio tracks simultaneously.

Are you using a custom audio track of your own in the "Create Disc Window / Background Music" ? Win 10, i7

Hi HDedit
Thanks for your response.
Yes, yes, yes! All of what you say is the problem.
I have tried new tracks as well as using original and as you say it appears to play 2 tracks.
I will try the close and reopen and see how it goes.
Thanks in advance.

I should point out that I noticed that this behavior of PD seems to occur when one is going back and forth between menu pages/functions during the menu modification process. I will make a new post regarding the failure to apply the same audio track to all pages of a project. Win 10, i7

Thanks everyone for your input.
No, we have not solved the problem.
However after taking your advice and changing to LPCM (didn't work) and saving and restarting (didn't work) installing a "clean" copy from a trial download (didn't work) and replacing tracks etc I have found the problem only shows itself in the PREVIEW of make disc. Even saving and reopening didn't work when previewed. It was not until I ignored the problem, burnt a copy to the hard drive and tested it that I found the problem only exists in the preview.
So, if you think you know what the audio problem is in sub menus of preview make disc, please let me know your findings.

The answer, I have not, but the same problem in my PD10, had any time wanted to avoid this (unnecessary) second menu / chapters page. Will follow with interest this line if there is no solution to the problem.

Thank for your support Kenneth
Like you and I both said - there is no answer.
However as I mentioned, ignore the problem - burn the disc and play it back - presto it is gone.
It only seems to be apparent previewing the sub menus.
You can still have the sub menus - just make the disc - don't upset yourself by previewing it.
