Power DVD 12 & My Movies

I am running Windows 7 Media Centre, My Movies 4.02 and TMT5. Within My Movies I have set TMT5 to be used as a external programme for DVDs / Blu Ray and MKV files

I have uninstalled TMT5, and installed the trail version of Power DVD 12. However when I enter the setup of My Movies, it will not let me select Power DVD as the default player for Bluray / DVD and MKV files. For Bluray and DVD files it only lets me select Windows Media Centre, and for MKV files I am unable to select any programme.

I am able to play Blu Ray disks and Blu Ray image files (ISO mounted using Virtual Clone drive), but are unable to play Blu Ray's which have been ripped to hard time.

Please can you advise if these limitations are as a result of my using the trial version, and that the full version will offer this functionality.

Hi,

you can open BD and DVD folder structures from the PowerDVD 12 CinemaMode main menu.

There is no option to playback files in PDVD CinemaMode

So Michael does this mean that unlike 11 ultra 12 ultra is not going to be able to be used with either My Movies or media browser. If so this will be deal breaker for many.

as far as I know there was never any official support for such tool.

So if there was never any official support. Does this mean and i know you dont use my movies. But if you were giving an educated guess is this something my movies did in their software update to make it appear?

My Movies has updated with support for 12. great news. I have not been able to try it yet to see if things work like 11 did.

while 12 appears now as an option in the external players in My Movies 4.03 it still does not work. Very disappointing. they did say that this version includes support but not integration. i am hoping integration means it will play from their movie strip inside media center like 11 does but i guess we will have to wait and see. i have asked for a timeline on when integration would happen but have not got a response yet.
