HI: Just came from P-DVD6 to P-DVD11 and I was wondering if there is a way to stop a cd or dvd from automatically playing when inserted into the DVD/CD player? Says in the manual that it will play automatically and I can't find anyway to make it my choice when a disk plays. Gets in the way when doing two things at the same time in P-DVD11. Thanks.

You have to change that setting in windows. This assumes you're running Windows 7 :

Go to the control panel and find "Auto Play", you may have to choose "Icon View" to find it in the upper right hand corner.

In auto play look for all CD and DVD's in the left column (what ever applies) and in the drop down box next to them choose to do nothing or what ever setting you want.

1. Open up "My computer".
2. Right click your DVD drive.
3. Drag down to "Properties" and click "Properties".
4. In the Properties menu click the "AutoPlay" tab.
5. Click the dropdown menu and select the filetype that you want to change the action of. This time please choose "DVD movie" .
6. Under actions select either "Select an action to perform" or "Prompt me each time to choose an action".
7. If you chose "Select an action to perform" select what action you want to perform. This time please choose "Take no action".
8. Click Apply or OK.
9. If you chose "Prompt me each time to choose an action" the next time you insert a CD or DVD with that type it will ask you what you want to do.
Then each time you insert a DVD to your DVD drive, the DVD should not be automatically played by your DVD player software.

What OS are you running XP, there is no "Auto Play" tab to click on in"Properties" in Windows 7 ?

Thank you all for your input. I'm running Win7Pro 64 bit. There was no autoplay in the properties menu. I had things set up in the Autoplay in the control panel set to ask me everytime, but this didn't work. So now I've set everything to Take No Action and that seemed to work. I inserted a DVD and it Took no Action. Thanks again. JB
