Combining/Converting PAL & NTSC

I work in an international environment, covering both PAL and NTSC video format regions. This means I need to be able to do the following:
- Combine and edit video segments that were recorded in PAL with video segments that were recorded in NTSC .
- Produce video to be used in both PAL and NTSC formats.

I have heard that converting PAL to NTSC (or visa versa), results in quality loss, and PowerDirector also warns of quality loss when inserting NTSC video into a PAL project. And yet, no matter what video format a project is set to, on the Produce tab the Profile name/Quality you can choose to produce it in either PAL or NTSC.

The movie industry produces and distributes films internationally in both PAL and NTSC, and I can't imagine that they shoot, edit, and produce every film twice (once in PAL and once in NTSC).

So is this quality loss thing not as big of an issue as it is made out to be, or is there some other procedure to achieve the desired results?

Hello,Powerdirector can't work fine with NTSC and PAL in the same project.

For best quality, you must convert all on PAL or NTSC.

Most player and TV accept NTSC and PAL, it's not necessary to make version NTSC and version PAL, but it's better to use all NTSC or all PAL in the projet and redering in same frame.

Only vegas pro can convert an rendering with best quality, but it's most expensive
