PD10 rendering bug - process glitches

Hi,

My predicament is thus; i am rendering in AVC format, everything was going fine... but it seems that i have come across a very iritating bug. It seems to be that if i start the rendering process and leave the program to its work, its fine; but if for any reason i click on the program, or interact with it in any way;obviously the program will attempt to update its values, indicating time left time elapsed etc. but along with this, the rendering will glitch, and it appears that for some reason the program will reset its process, and the progress bar will skip forward in %; and all the other values indicate that the program thinks that its restarting the rendering, but from an arbitrary mid point, not the start. The resluting content is that once the process is finished the program reviews its work, realises that it failed, and only saves the placeholder made at the beginning of the process (188 bytes file)

I have explained it as best i can; if anyone is still unsure as to the problem i face let me know and i will provide examples

Hi ToObeyIsLife,

It will be better if you provide some examples and also if possible the screenshot of the error you are getting.

Reminds me of the punch line, "if it hurts, don't do that".

If you know that PD will react badly, then leave it alone until it finishes the current process.

Carl,

That is what i am currently doing; but i shouldnt have to, at the end of the day this is not a feature of the program and is detrimental to my production of content, not to mention it is a massive inconvienience if for some reason i accidently interact with it in some way then 10-50mins of rendering is lost. So while i understand and concur, you cant seriously be proposing this as a long term solution.

Maybe not long term, but I learned that it is better to start the render process and walk away from the computer.

I sometimes am rendering a two hour AVCHD 1080i video, that process take several hours on my system. So I leave the computer to do its work.

I do the same thing when burning a Disk Folder, DVD or BluRay. I never use PDs disk burning, I learned a long time ago that is an invitation for making drink coasters.

Falconian,

The refund process is very straightforward and painless. Just
Contact Cyberlink customer service for assistance and they will process the refund through Digital River if you purchased directly through the Cyberlink website. Just fill out the refund request form which prompts you for your order number and it should go smoothly provided you are within the 30 day time limit. If you are beyond the time limit I am not sure how to advise you.

I don't think that customer service monitors the forum, so bumping topics won't expedite the refund process as far as I know.

Good luck with your refund! It should be no problem. I am sorry that Power Director didn't work for you on you system. It works great on my system. It works for some and not for others. There are variables that keep it from working on some system configurations.

Best,
Kevin
