I just bought PD10 and I am playing what I have created so far in the timeline and the movie keeps freezing at different points. The audio will keep playing but the video stops. It will also do this when I produce the video. Anyone know if there is something I can do to fix this or is it a bad program?

Thanks

It is not a bad program, but it has its share of problems. You need to follow the directions at http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/7958.page to get help effectively.

There are apparently problems with "3D-Like" titles causing hangs. Jerry Schwartz

Thanks Jerry
Here are the 2 diagnostics from my system. Also what I am trying to do is produce this video which is less than 2 minutes into a file as it is the intro to a bigger video and I will want to merge the files into one later on. So it is freezing in the editing timeline as well as when I go to produce it. It freezes in both at random spots.

There are reasons why the senior sleuths want detailed information. The way PD10 interacts with the rest of the system is like octopus tag-team wrestling. The problem could be anything from your codec versions to who knows what. Jerry Schwartz

Now THAT should be on the box!
Now that I got that off my exo-skeleton... the video driver is a little out of date, just a little.
Create a restore point, and install the latest driver from Nvidia, not Windows!
That may help, plus perhaps the next patch.

Hey Guys

Does anyone have anymore suggestions. I have downloaded the most recent drivers for my GPU and I just downloaded the new patch and I still have the same issue. I can't believe that you have to do all this work to get a program to work properly. Getting very frustrated.
Let me know if you need anymore information of my system please as I would like to get this working properly.

Most of us don't need to chase too many issues, just use the software, but sometimes, because video-editing is just about the most demanding thing you can do, things go wrong.
And once-in-a-while, not too often, it just doesn't ever work correctly on someone's computer, no matter what we come up with to make it work. Maybe a screen-grab of your timeline attached here is a good next step. I think we'd like you to try a little more, and stay here with us at the forum. Got any custom content in PD 10 from Director Zone ??

I believe I have found problem for lock ups burn and produce failures.
Last night I did a complete removal of PD with Revo Uninstaller which will also remove hidden files.

On start up of PD 10 I did not fill in Auto sign in to Director Zone.
Last time I did this I set it up to auto sign in and found out when I started my so called clean rein stalled of PD it was full of custom content that I had downloaded before , along with my burn problem.
THIS NEEDS TO BE CHANGED once downloaded it is imposable to remove these files from PD 10 as far as I can see.

This time there was none.

2nd thing I changed was I did not check (( allow SVRT on single IDR H.264 video.
Which was checked before.

Loaded some video picked a menu and clicked on BURN and it worked great.
First time PD 10 has burn a DVD in over a week.
No problems with producing video now also.

So in short it was either a effected custom content from Director Zone or checking and allowing SVRT on single IDR H.264 video.

I suspect custom content because this is one of the only things I did was download some Director Zone to PD from time burning worked to complete failure in burning DVD.
PD 10 really needs more checking of files uploaded in this area as it would be very easy for someone to upload a effected file.

So I believe problem is in one of the many downloads from Director Zone which I will not use anymore that is for sure.
