Can't figure this one out. I captured 3 mpg clips from the same DVD ..placed them on the timeline ...and they won't play in the previewer consistently and won't render into a movie. Sometimes the first clip will play then when it hits the second the screen goes green. Sometimes the picture cuts in and out between the image and a green screen..I can here the audio 100% and it plays right through all three segments. This isnt even HD and it won't play . I'm running an I7 processor with plenty of memory so I know it' not my computer. Yes I do set it to movie during the preview...doesn't make a difference.
Any ideas? PD10 ultra windows 7 64 bit.

3 replies directly from Cyberlink no fixes. Why should I have to adjust my screen resolution if the video clips won't even produce? Does not make sense..they left me hanging and went home.

No it is an upgrade version. My PC is an I7 processor with 8GB ram/ 64 bit all up to date windows 7 premium.. I have used only 50 GB on this PC its a new machine. I am not venting.. but this is ridiculous. the fact that it works off and on proves there is something wrong with the software. These are three clips taken from the same DVD they will sputter than play then sputter again. Green screen to video green screen to blank..the audio plays all the way through. can't preview and can't produce .I know how to use PD as I have PD 9 installed on my old XP desktop.

yes I am furious but I am willing to listen to any suggestions... I would rather get a refund but i know that will never happen. I ran the same clips on my old desktop with PD 9 and they viewed and edited just fine.

Your Graphics Processor is underpowered. Unfortunately you can not correct this in a laptop,

I recommend that you at least get the newest drivers( 8.15.10.2559...yours are 8.15.10.2462) from the INTEL.COM site:

You can also try turning OFF Hardware Acceleration in "Preferences" within PD10. This might help, too

Also, please click on the word POWERDIRECTOR on the upper right inside the program and tell us the BUILD. Mine is 10.0.0.1129a, what is yours?

64 meg of dedicated video ram for graphics is waaaay too low. The minimum I would say would be 500 meg, 1 gig even better.

As Fred said upgrade your video driver may help but editing video on laptops is not good at the best of times. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn

The fact that it works on and off could be due to the machine, video drivers or the method used to capture the video, or the video source itself. Does the same green screen happen if you use JUST the sample clip in the timeline (a couple of times)?

Capture 5 second (ONLY 5 seconds) of the video, and post that file for the editors here to look at.

Cripes this is a 1400 dollar laptop you would think it could run simple editing software in non HD.
[Post New]
Inside the program (you know Powerdirector), there is a little thing that looks like a GEAR (know what that is?) on the icons on the top left, Click it (or click "Edit, Preferences" on the top menu). Go to the HARDWARE ACCELERATION section and UNCHECK anything you find. Close the program, reboot, and try again.

Post a 5 second capture file for us to look at..longer than that is too long/large.

When you buy a PC and it comes loaded with a software that keeps begging you to upgrade you would expect the upgrade would work in that PC..... common sense. BUT no not from "e''ll fuckin screw you CYBERLINK"what an ASSHOLE cocksuckin fuckin ASSHOLE COMPANY!!!!!!!
[Post New]
Unfortunately, PD10 is NOT a "simple editing software" and the hardware platform must be strong to handle it. I wouldn't try to run your bus with my PT Cruiser engine.

You REALLY have a potty mouth and as far as I am concerned, you can find someone else to listen to it. You will get no more advice or help from me, but it appears you are entertained by your OWN rantings and don't need company anyway.

In reading some of your past posts, I see you still act the same. Discontinuing my monitoring of this post (see the little "STOP watching this topic" button at the bottom of the page. I just clicked it..best of luck!!

Well if PD 10 is not a simple editing software they should not offer it to the General Public... and beg people to upgrade.... I will also be sending an email to Samsung telling them not to include Cyberlink products in their packages.
Thank you for your help. I think the techno world is out of touch with reality.

I provided it and I thank them for their effort but as usual it doesn't fix the problem . My apologizes for my profanities but I know I will never get a refund for something that doesn't work in a BRAND NEW PC! Nothing more frustrating than throwing money in the garbage.
