If you mean this montage

It is easy to do something similar in Powerdirector.

This image is made up of three separate images.
In Powerdirector you can put each of the three images on a separate track, Your main video with sound on track1, Image1 on track2, Image2 on track 3, and image3 on track 4, you would resize and position each image to fill on third of the screen.

Easy to do, drag the frame with the mouse. You may have to go into the PIP designer and uncheck maintain aspect ratio. in order to get all to fit.

Taking stills is easy: move the scrubber so that you see the frame you want to capture, then click on the "camera" icon below the preview window.

Place the snapshot onto one of the video tracks, select it, and then click on the "crop the selected" button above the timeline. Where the crop window lists aspect ratio choises (at the left), select either free-form or custom. I recommend custom, so that you can make your images exactly 1/3 of the width of a frame. Free-form would be a matter of trial and error.

Repeat with the other two snapshots, putting each on a separate video track.

You'll find that they are all centered, which is not what you want; but if you select a clip you can move it back and forth in the preview window.

Now, to get them to pop up in sequence is easy. For the sake of argument, lets assume you want the sequence to take 15 seconds.

  • Select the first image and set its duration to 15 seconds, either by dragging the end of it or by right-clicking to bring up the editing menu.
  • Slide the second image so that it begins 5 seconds after the first, and set its duration to 10seconds.
  • Slide the third image so that it begins 10 seconds after the first, and set its duration to 5 seconds.

Once you have done this and see how easy it is you will whack yourself in the head with a stick.... __________________________________________
