Would someone please try the SOLARIZE effect, in the FX time-line, not added directly to the clip?

I put a video clip on the timeline then took the Solar 3D clip and put it on the FX track. It changes the vid clip and I can edit the effect to alter the "intensity". No problems for me.

Stuffed again Barry, Have you thought about reinstalling version 6, it was a very stable product.

I did a screen capture of your crabby avatar > put it in PD10 > placed the Solarize effect in the Effects track > and this was the result.
