Hi there.
I'm having trouble burning a disk I keep getting an error message

Burning unsuccessful
not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

I have a blank DVD in the drive and the program shows only 3202Mb/4700Mb is needed. I even tried with a Dual layer disk and still got the error.
My HDD has 833GB free and C drive has 23GB free.

I'm using Power director 8.0 running win7(32bit)

I've had issues in the past burning disks with PD and i don't think i have ever successfully burnt one with this program. In the past I have taken the produced files and used the very bad editing program that came with my SONY camcorder "Imagemixer" it was at least useful enough to be able to create a disk with several of the produced files. and create a menu system etc.

However, that program is so old that it will not even run on Windows 7 so i can't resort to that anymore and need PD to be able to do it.
I've submitted a question to Cyberlink but hoped I would get more speedy response here.

cheers.

That error is because there is not enough space on your C: drive to contain all of the temporary files needs to generate your disk data.

I would bet that your C: drive has less than 100 GB of free space.
My HDD has 833GB free and C drive has 23GB free.

23 GB is not enough free space on C:, You do not have enough free space. It does not matter that you have 810 GB of free space on your other drives. Only C: is important.

It can also be because you have used up all of your RAM and your Video card does not have enough RAM.

That error message is not about the space on the DVD. It is about the space on your computer.

That's what i was leaning towards as the problem which is why i included the space in my post. But 23Gb isn't enough to create a 3GB movie. WOW.
Is there any setting to tell PD to use the D drive or am i going to have to expand C.

BTW, so far your response has been way more helpful than Cyberlinks who have given me a whole bunch of crap suggestions. uninstalling other burning software and turning off Zone Alarm, etc

I'll look for setting options or increase my c drive.
Thanks,

By Default while installing cyber link it by defauld installs in C:\ Drive.

Method 1 :- 1) uninstall Cyberlink
2) Install again, while installing give default setup place in D:\ drive,so it will install in D:\ drive and you can use as usual.

Method 2:- 1) If you want to expand space in C:\ drive, then

1) Cut all your necessary files and paste in your D:\ drive

2) Delete all temporary files ( in command prompt - %temp% [enter]),a window will open select and delete all the temp files.

3)Empty recycle bin.

4) Deleted unused icons.

5) Defragment

If you have kept huge data then this will help out, because it will empty most of the space in C:\ Drive !! Love Cyber-Link !!

Thanks for the help.
I increased C drive to give me more than 100GB free and it worked a treat.

interestingly though. I did install this into D drive which had more than 300GB free.

So now its working fine I'm wondering is it worthwhile upgrading to PD10.
