Hi Tony, just that, nothing. It doesnt matter if I import, drop n drag, capture etc nothing appears. Interestingly when I try to capture from my HD video camera the HD camera option isnt available for me to choose (only the two tv options and the external device option is available) when i capture using the exteranl device option i get a message saying my version of PD cannot read AVCHD video

Hi,
Please provide some basic information. First let members check what version of PowerDirector 10 you are using. Please follow the guides Part A and Part B

DTH070, one way to capture your video...look at your computer and check to see if it sees your camcorder as an external drive. If it sees it as an external drive, explore that external drive, find the video files you want to transfer and drag them into a folder in your computer. Then import the video inside your folder into your video editing program.
Have you done that ?...or did I miss that part ?

Hi Joevideo, I have tried you suggestion and I get a similar message to my post avove, ie my version does not support avchd. Very confusing. I had none of these issues with PD9.
dth070;
Is this the TRAIL version you are using?? Please make a5 second clip with your camera and attach it here, in it's NATIVE format, BEFORE it goes through PD.
The activation pop up for the H.264 file format will pop up when a HD file is inserted into PD. A user has 30days from purchase to activate this feature in PowerDirector 10. This message will display a count down to days left and requires an internet connection to activate.
The trial version has limitations for H264 file format.
An Uninstall - re-install will likely correct/overwrite an installation error.

Hi guys, i managed to fix the problem with a simple reinstall. Thanks very much for your help. A final question, when previewing clips in the timeline the quality of the picture is very poor. Can this be fixed and does it affect the final rendering/production process
