Just what the title says. if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Fixed??? Broken??? Not sure what you mean.

Are you talking about a Progressive to Interlace conversion? Quality issue or complete failure??

Well after the 1012(?) patch my copy was fixed, I just created a Hi-Def wedding video made from a variety of videos given me from guest using various formats. I created a Bl-ray version and a standard DVD version successfully. some of the videos given (from standard def camcorders) weren't as nice as the ones taken with hi-def (full 1920X1080) but good no less.

James1,

I am talking about taking a 1080p footage and rendering it as dvd footage, not simply taking a non HD source and making a non HD movie.

It is going from 1080p source and downgrading it to dvd non HD format that is not rendering correctly.

if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Hi,
I took HD video from my jvc Hi-def camcorder1920x1080 video, and some standard def videos from friends camcorder, some photos taken by professional photographer and creating a DVD in hi-def and creating a Hi def Blu ray DVD.
I rendered to a Blu ray disk in hi def for those who had blu ray capable players and a Hi def DVD for those who had hi def capable players.
Both were done using PD10 Ultra to create the disks. The blu ray plays on my ps3 and my Panasonic DVD player.

P.s I may be missing something here....getting old...

when you say hi def dvd players, do you mean AVCHD capable, or what?

I don't have a problem making a AVCHD formatted dvd from 1080p source. It is making a dvd normal dvd formatting, not hd dvd from a 1080p source.

Is this what you did, or did you make a AVCHD for the ones who did not have a blu ray player?

thanks if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Brad -

Though I don't usually burn too many DVDs, I did recently. The video included a lot of slideshows and HD clips from my Canon HF S10 & Sanyo Xacti CA100.

Even though I didn't expect the quality to be much good, being a DVD, it was acceptable. I saw no difference in quality between the slideshows and the HD video clips.

I'm a little unclear about what you mean by "fixed". Over here, it worked as expected.

Have you tried comparing the results when you:
(a) slow down the burn speed
(b) create a folder, then use other software for the actual burn?

Cheers - Tony

Hi bradwehrli@gmail.com,
You'll need to provide some additional information please.
1. a screenshot of your project - Edit Workspace would help
2. a list of your selections and choices in Create menu, screenshot would help.
3. A sample of your 1080p video, 5 seconds unedited and please state your camera make and model
4. Information on the capability and resources of your PC is important data. Please provide a diagnostic file. See guide.
5. Please provide information about the PD10 version you're using. See guide.

Guide details: Part A, B, and for screenshots E & F

Yes, it is still jacked up with version: 10.0.0.1012a paid version of powerdirector 10 ultra...very disappointing.

I was hoping if I bought the full updated with patch version it would work right, but no.

Any thoughts? if a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right.

ynotfish, it did not work with creating a file and burning with windows dvd maker.

It has to be a rendering problem. Good suggestions though!

I used fast and slow burning methods...man I am going through some dvd's!

Brad -

When you say "it didn't work", do you mean it didn't work at all or the quality was poor? What actually happened?

I'd suggest using Imgburn, which is both free & reliable. http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

You can use the same folder you've already created.

N.B. My understanding (only from reading the Help file) of Windows DVD Maker is that it will not be able to generate a DVD from a folder.

Cheers - Tony

Is your version really 1012a? The "a" caught my interest.

Jeff -

The a had me guessing too... & I haven't been able to determine what it is. But they're out there!
