PD10 Tutorial Book

I recently received an email from Cyberlink advertising specials including PD10. In the add was a link for a free download of a PD10 Tutorial book that was about 300 pages. There was also a free ebook download. I have been trying to take advantage of the download(s) but the link did not work. The book is in PDF format. I have gone directly to the Cyberlink site and tried the download with the same results. Has anyone else who has seen this download had any luck in making it work or even know about this download?

I would really like to have a "hand to hold" while I am playing with my trial PD10 download. I had downloaded the PD9 trial but did not get to experiment with it much before it expired. I hope to use the PD10 trial more.

Thanks,
Rich

Hi David and Rich,

Rich was referring to the tutorial book, not the user guide. The tutorial book can be found here:

http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/events/enu/2011/Q4/pdr10-book/index2.jsp

Rich, you need to sign in to your CyberLink account before you can download. I just tried in Chrome, and the download started right away. And in Internet Exploror is asked me where I wanted to save it.

Can you clarify on what happens when you click the Download button?

Regards,
David

David,
Thanks for the response but that's not it. This download is 48 meg and the book is over 300 pages. Try pasting this to your address bar. I think it will pull up.

David,
Don't know what I was thinking. You don't have to copy it to the address bar. Just click on it.

Hi Rich,

OK...not sure where that is from. The link I gave you is for the same tutorial book. So you can just use it.

It is free at the link I gave you, so go ahead and download.

David

I'll try your link. I had signed in to my account and I'm using Firefox. When I click on the download link nothing happens. The little "hand" shows up on the link but no download.

I'll try your link and let you know.

OK I clicked on the link you sent and I get the exact same screen that I end up with when I go through my Cyberlink email. Still no luck. I click on the download button and nothing happens. The screen doesn't freeze and I still can work the cursor, just no download. What's really curious is when I clicked on your link and got the same screen, it also was personalized with my name, just like my email link.

I had trouble with the link, even after I logged in similar to what you describe (no action on clicking the link on that page I was sent to). I am using Firefox and here is what worked:
RIGHT-CLICK on the "Click for Free download button" on the page and chose to "open in a new tab". or "Save link AS"..the download started immediately!!

This is the 300 page info book (tutorial)

http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/events/enu/2011/Q4/pdr10-book/index2.jsp?utm_campaign=EDM&utm_source=EDM_eNewsUSA_mh1_3445&utm_medium=EDM_eNewsUSA_18

Firefox users just right click the button and then save link as option.... LEFT click on button does nothing.

Fred and all others,
Now I'm really freaked. I right click on the download button and get the exact same response. NOTHING! It is obviously something on my end but I'm not having issues with anything else on my computer.

OK Group,
Just for the helluvit I went upstairs to my "real" computer (I've been working on my laptop) and pulled up the email, clicked on the download link and the book is downloading as we speak. I have no idea why it would not work with the laptop. Maybe it's a Vista thing (laptop). My "real" computer is running Windows 7 64 bit. But it's also on Firefox and I did not have to do the right click thing. Anyway, it appears to be downloading.

Thanks to ALL for the input and suggestions. But, it would appear to be something unique to my laptop.

Thanks again,
Rich

Apparently it is an issue when you access that page FROM WITHIN THESE FORMS....
If I copy the link... get out of these forums... paste the link in a new address bar, the page comes up and the download button works as it is supposed to.... did the same thing in Internet Explorer.

Isn't it odd!

Using Firefox, I tried both links from here in the forum
http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/events/enu/2011/Q4/pdr10-book/index2.jsp?utm_campaign=EDM&utm_source=EDM_eNewsUSA_mh1_3445&utm_medium=EDM_eNewsUSA_18

and

http://www.cyberlink.com/stat/events/enu/2011/Q4/pdr10-book/index2.jsp (the same page)

and both worked in the normal way... left click on "Click for Free Download" then Open or Save As.

Cheers - Tony

Careful..I think Bubba has a CCW in Nevade (joking!!)
