PD10 and SVRT problems

I tried loading an AVCHD clip into PD10 for some quick SVRT testing. Without any effects SVRT can be used for rendering the final clip (obviously). However, when adding a simple transition, the entire clip has to be re-encoded.
Documentation mentions clips smaller than 1 minute is not available for SVRT but my clip is longer than that.
So, any hints on getting this to work?

Hi oRBIT2002,
Please can you state what the source video file is from, camera, make/model and provide a 5 second sample attached to your reply?

I might have a sample already to try.

Tip: Clear out all your previous Custom profiles and start afresh with Intelligent SVRT. A carry over from PD9 or earlier could/might cause you problems.

Canon HF200 camcorder.
Samplefile here (1080i, 34MB):

I just created an empty project, added a videofile and tried the SVRT information.

Hi,
I used a sample I had already. 1080i 25fps.

I used a default profile already present, you may need to check Produce and Intelligent SVRT.

Please see the image.

My file uses 24Mbps, wonder if that's the problem (I am using the PD10 trial right now).
Work says "0%" for me.

My media reads:
h.264, 1920x1080, 25fps, 23,236K bitrate

Please view attached Intelligent SVRT for 24mbps.
As you can see the results using a 24mbps file is ok to.

Hi,
For the record, here's your video files and as you can see SVRT is OK with those as well.

I can't duplicate this behaviour. I get 0% when I do the same as you (join them together and add transitions).
So, is this because of the trial version?

Hi,
I suspect it is. I've today mentioned to CyberLink the number of posts (trial users and potential buyers) with the same concerns.

I just got the full version and now SVRT seems to work. The trial version is obviously incomplete (this SVRT limitation is not mentioned in the trial limiations anyway).

Hi Dafydd,

Are you still using an earlier version of PD10.

With the original 1005 version SVRT worked sometimes, but since I updated to version 1012
SVRT takes 18 minutes to render a 5 minute video consisting of 6 Panasonic 1080P clips with a
color board at the start, random transitions and a rolling credits title at the end.
I did the test after deleting all custom profiles from the produce module.
When I view SVRT timeline data I get the same as you with Green above the video clips and
Red bars above transitions, color board and final title location as expected.
While rendering I had CPU and GPU load monitors running and the CPU load was close to 98%
for the full 18 minutes while the GPU load only showed occasional blips above 0% load.

The same test video renders in 6 minutes without SVRT and produces a 50fps High@4.2 profile result,
but I do have to reduce the bitrate to 22500Kbps before the program will accept the custom profile.
During this test the CPU load ran at about 58% during video clips and 90% during transitions etc.
GPU load varied from 0% to 20% or 30% at times.

I am in the process of doing more tests. and documenting the results.

Just to throw a spanner in the works PD9 rendered the test same video in just over 4 minutes,
again without SVRT.....

Food for thought!

Hi PatC,
Please post your concerns under a new topic.

Andrew's thread covered a similar viewpoint. http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/19604.page#103403

Thanks.
