Trial of PD 10 without AVCHD support

There's a trial of PD 10 without AVCHD support (when importing an AVCHD clip PD 10 tells me, that this version does not support AVCHD), altough the product specification page under chapter Video Camcorder Support states:
"If your camcorder or format is not on the list it may still be compatible with PowerDirector, so please feel free to download the free trial to test your camcorder and file formats."
I beg they laugh about customers like me who tried that aut.

But how can I test, if me last big project created under PD 8 Ultra (and using AVCHD of course) can be continued under PD 10?
How can I test, if audio format DTS is really working since PD 10?
How can I test, if adding longer clips is so time consuming as it was with PD 8?

Kind regards,

Herbert

PS: I use Vista SP2 32bit, 4GB RAM, AMD Athlon X64 Dual Core 2,6GHz, nVidia 8600GT

Hi Herbert,

I far as I am aware you should be able to test all formats with the Trial version, But I believe with the trial version that may only be possible with Win7, I had no issue with the trial version.
Other users may have more imput on your problem

Thank you, I saw the hint "H.264 encode only on Windows 7 OS or specifc hardware" - but took it seriously that only encoding is not possible under Vista. So I tried only to import an AVCHD clip, but even that failed. If this is the reason then I would expect that they state that import, playback and export of H.264 is only possible on ...

But beside that I used the trial version of PD 7 and PD 8 under the same Vista & hardware and had no problems importing, playing and exporting AVCHD clips. So I expected Cyberlink not to remove features/functions that worked well in previous versions.

Anyway, did someone try if PD 10 can work with PD 8 created projects and if PD 10 supports DTS audio format?

Herbert
