As for video quality and rendering speed improvements ? Well, doing extensive testing with still images mixed with AVCHD clips from Canon, Panasonic and Sony cameras/camcorders and adding various effects, fixes, cropping, and trimming to the lot results in stable editing with predictable results ! A nice change.
Is it faster ? Yes and no. If you're looking for quick video production then yes, it's faster. If video quality is your goal then leave all the accelerators out (this only works with fast multi-core PC) - the raw power of a multi-core PC still renders a more consistent, higher quality image (AVCHD in my case). And in my case it's actually a bit faster then using the GPU capability.
And new in PD10 is the ability to view the rendering while it's happening in real-time. And it works too !
Let's hear more test results !
