Any Help. Cyberlink Issues.

My computer has been having problems suddenly, and my Cyberlink powerdirector don't launch anymore. I need help with this, I know its someone out there who have had this problem before and fixed it.

Anyway when i try to launch my cyberlink p.d. i get the following error message "PDR9.exe - Application Error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close application."

Any help or suggestions? been having this error a while now. i cant launch photoshop or any other programs but a few.
[tried system restore and i have tried re-installing etc.]

is it the program or computer?

The problem is most likely caused by some missing dlls that cannot be found on the system path or in the folder where the executable is.
As this happens on other programs you have, it could be a C++ Visual basic error.
There is no real way to confirm where the error is except by trial and error, try reinstalling all your C++ Visual Basic, all versions that are currently installed.
It is not a CyberLink related error.

I reinstall my OS twice a year, just to get rid of all the garbage that seems to build up

Did you try a simple thing like re-boot the computer?

It is possible the everything did not get loaded on the last startup.

I have found that if a reboot doesn't solve a strange problem, that shutting down the computer and restarting can sometimes help. I assume hardware can sometimes get into a state that a simple reboot won't reset.

You are 100% correct Gary.

What a power down does that a re-boot does not is let the dynamic memory die.
When you turn off the power, memory can no longer hold any information.

The difference in computer terms is cold boot and warm boot.
Cold boot is when the power is off.
Warm boot is basically when you select reboot from the start menu.

About 10 minuets into production it freezes. can't quit have to reboot. I tried almost everything posted in the forums. Help!!!

AMD atholon II-4 630
8 gb ram

ASUS HD 5450 Silent graphics card

I checked the event viewer and it get this:

I am getting the same thing, 5 to 10 minutes into a project it freezes. Was working fine a couple projects back. Just Installed Windows updates ( 7 ), no help.

I uninstalled PD9 and re installed. Solved the problem. NO MORE FREEZING AT THE 10 MINUET MARK.

Actually, My Windows installer is having problems installing the following.. [ Windows 7 Service pack 1 44.0MB - 533.1MB ] And [ Security update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Service pack 1 Redistributable Package 2.6MB ] Would this effect my programs? Could this be the problem?

By the way... I tried re-installing, system restore, And restarting the computer.

Ohhhhh I just noticed this reply and i think your right, But the thing is I do not have the disc anymore... which I think that is whats required for the re-installing ..

Sometimes an over zealous registry cleaner will be a cause of "used to work but doesn't now" type problems. Registry cleaners are good mostly to those who sell them. Also, registry cleaners hide in some anti-virus software. Reinstalling the software puts those deleted .dlls back where they should be .

On 10/26/11 I posted "after a re install everything worked fine, NO freezing" Well Same problem again. 5-8 minuets into production program freezes. Even during production of the video with very little editing If I don't save my work after every new edit or fade it locks up and I have to reboot the program. I'm getting very discouraged with this program. I can't keep UN-installing and re-installing the program.

It sounds to me, you have some unwanted software running on your computer (Malware).

Your symptom reminds me of an old Boot virus that had on my computer years ago. The computer would work OK for a time, then suddenly not. It seemed random.
A reboot would make the computer work OK for a while, until the virus kicked in.

I will run malwarebytes again. It didn't find anything the last time I ran it. this is a 2 month old install. Still pretty fresh. I believe my processor is a AMD athlon IIx4 650 Could this be my problem?

No, the processor is not the problem.

You might try Microsoft Security Essentials for your malware scanner.
Just search for it.
