Has anyone had the following issue.

Start the computer.
Start PowerDVD 11
Check the region code (It is set to (4) times and (A))
Hit play on the Blu-ray movie (Iron Man)
Movie does not play, but the region codes now say (0) times and Blank.

Reload the video driver (Using ATI on a HD 4800 card)
The movie will play fine.

Just as another test, I still have powerDVD8 on the same machine. The movie plays fine.

Currently trying to get support under ticket CS001061411. Have had this issues since 9/24.

Screen shots are attached.

Thoughts?

Fergie, did you find a solution to this problem? I am currently having the same problem with PDVD 12 Ultra.

What I was able to figure out was the following. I had installed with the ASUS card the ASUS video gaming software. This somehow adjusts the performance of the card based on what the card needed to do. (The icon in the toolbar looked like a little alien head.) This was causing some information in the Direct X to change after starting to run PowerDVD and caused the error. I eventually uninstalled everything ASUS related to the video card and just installed the basic driver. Never had a issue since. I am sorry I can not remember the specific name of the ASUS software causing the issue.

Rudy, did you donnload and install the latest patches for PowerDVD 12? Actually the march 2012 patch (1514) was supposed to fix that. Just install the latest one from October 2012 (2118a) to get all the patches in one.

If you want to discuss this further, do so in the PowerDVD 12 part of the forum. .
