I'm really experienced with PD8 200+ hours of edits to my name. Running PD8 with a quad core i7-920 is really having issues with dealing with any resolution Gopro hero helmet cam footage i toss into the timeline....720p, 1080 whatever. I drop a few MP4's in the timeline empty of all clips or just with a few of these helmet cam videos and the Playing back of these clips nearly alwasy results in a hang of the video play...... yet I can hear the audio track progressing. when I stop the playback of the timeline there is a massive hang of the whole window for about 10 seconds. When I get the play button to highlight again so I can do something I try to play again and it just hangs again. I can blindly just trim or split off peices to edit but until I render that project I'm never sure exactly what I'll have....FRANKENSTEIN Editing. I've managed to make it work in the most painful way in the following video. Adding just a couple 1st person clips which really perks up the video cost me hours of heartache trying to work it out.

I'll have to migrate to a different platform if I can't get this to work.

I see you have PD8 build 2508. There is a later patch 3022.
It would be a good idea to update PD8.

Part A and Part B.

When is the last time you updated your Video Driver.
If you search in the PD9 forum, you will find some posts on the GoPro Camera and problems editing GoPro footage.

GoPro is one of those cameras that give Powerdirector problems. There are editors that do edit GoPro footage without probems.
