QTsetComponentProperty(output audio format) failed

Hi,
Trying to produce a .MOV file from an edited .MOV movie using PD 9.0.0.3305.
I get an error "QTsetComponentProperty(output audio format) failed" in a pop up box and Powerdirector freezes.
Original movie plays OK as does the cropped version in PD "Edit" mode.
Any idea how to cure this???
Thanks,
Bob Bob Johnson

Hi Bob,

Google search reveals quite a few reports.

I would hazard guess and try a simple solution.

1. Uninstall QuickTime
2. Uninstall PowerDirector
3. re-install PD9
4. reinstall Content packs
5. apply activation key
6. install 3305 patch

and retest.

I use Control Panel to uninstall but you'll find using Start menu shortcuts there should be an uninstall option for both.

However the issue might be to do with the mov itself (very likely) and in which case I suggest Bob, you provide a sample for members to test on their systems.

Thanks Dafydd,
I tried your suggestions but it seems the problem is the default audio compession AAC. I created a new profile and changed audio to LPCM and it produced OK.

Thanks
Bob

Hey Bob

Got the same problem. Your solution about audio change to LPCM is working. F*** great. Thanks a lot.
