No Audio with Power Director 5.0

Hi

I recently bought DVD Suite 5 Pro, which included Power Director 5.00.2505a SE-Plus, to edit the .MOD files from my JVC Everio GZ-MG21EK.

I downloaded the software from the Cyberlink website (I've also ordered it on CD but, with the current postal problems, I've no idea when it will arrive).

I've installed it on my newish Dell Inspiron 9400 Notebook and have no problem importing the files into Power Director - except that there is absolutely no audio.

The sample 'aquarium' file performs perfectly in Power Director - including audio. The .MOD files from my camera also play normally in Windows Media Player - including audio. So, there doesn't seem to be a problem with the system audio itself. The problem seems to be with Power Director.

Can anyone suggest a solution?

I had this same problem when I downloaded Version 5 and was puzzled that the audio on the Aquarium clip worked OK
I think the problem is the MG21 camera audio is Dolby Digital and Ver. 5 cannot edit it.
Having liked the bundled version I decided to buy Ver. 6 which edits the Dolby digital audio files OK.

Thanks very much for the advice, John.

I upgraded to Power Director Version 6 and everything now works perfectly.

Your help is much appreciated.

This info is not shown anywhere on the Cyberlink web pages.
It took me a long time emailing Cyberlink. Their customer service I believe is in the far east and their grasp of English grammar is not all it might be, for me to get a satisfactory explanation from them. John
