Hi..ok I hope I will be able to explain my problem properly. My PDS file in on C drive and I had imported some clips to edit from an external hard drive say F: and C: drive ... on an occasion i could not use hard disk so it asked me for the clips to be loaded from F: drive. I chose ignore and some the clips on time line which used files from F showed as black. I thought it would be ok as when I put hard disk someother time they will come back. So i edited few clips from C: drive and close project after saving it. Next time when I used my hard drive to import media from there in project. It imported the files but the edited clips are still appearing black and it seems I have lost the work done on it. Is there some way to relink them....Hope to get positive replies....

Hi -

There's a pretty simple solution.

Copy the files you need from your F drive to your C drive.
Leave them there while you're working on your project.
... then PD will always know where they are!

Alternatively - just don't disconnect your F drive. With any sort of luck PD will be able to locate your files.

Sorry - forgot to mention... you said, "I chose ignore and some the clips on time line which used files from F showed as black." That's why! Don't choose Ignore - choose Browse... & show PD where your clips are.

Cheers - Tony

Actually let me put it in this way.... I was working on PDS file with some clips from F drive and some from C /..... I chose ignore when worked on it yesterday when it asked to load F files.... So the clips on on timeline from F were blank. I thought it wud be ok next time so I worked on timeline with files from C and pressed SAVE PROJECT... and today the timeline edited clips from F dont locate themselve and it does not even ask for files from F even though today I have connected it. I think my work is gone...as blanks are appearing everytime no matter what I do....

Yes -

That's because you saved the project RIGHT WHEN PD HAD FORGOTTEN WHERE THE CLIPS WERE!

If you follow the steps I suggested next time, you won't have any trouble.

Right now - with your current project -

1. copy those files to the C drive
2. import them into PD
3. insert them in the timeline where they were before
4. re-edit them

Cheers - Tony

another good technique is to rename pds file at end of each day's work .. such as projetx-x-day-##.

That will let you backup to any point. Has saved me several times RTX 2060 SUPER 8GB GDDR6

Is there anyway to make DVD menus text only. I don't like the preview boxes.

Thank you in advance

Hi Charles -

Short answer - NO - we're stuck with thumbnails.

You might like to download this menu from DZ - made by Jeff (JL_JL) http://directorzone.cyberlink.com/detail/5485

I'd try this instead of what Tony posted, it fixes a little issue someone was having. Same general menu concept though.
