Stutter during editing at and after transitions

I am a relative newbie to PD 9 and have read numerouse posts but want to know if the following is normal. When viewing the editing window it stutters every time there is a fade transition and then contimues to stutter unless you momentarily stop and start the motion. If this is done it then continues smooth until the next transition and then the same thing happens. Incidentally this affect happens at the same pace no matter what definition is selected for play back. If I play the clips from the libary above it runs smoothly. I Have bought what i think to be resonable computer and it seems to meet the criteria. I also attach the diag files.
Is there a solution or is this somthimg you have to live with wth this software. I have just loaded the latest patch but no change.

Thanks

Shw mae Glyn,
Can you please provide a screenshot of your Edit Workspace? Full screen shot, I'm looking for project construction and selections made.

Please provide information on the media being edited. Camera (make, model) and a sample video file, not edited and about 5 to 10 seconds in length please.

Please state the setting you have selected in the Preview Player.

System looks excellent (gwech)

Hwyl

Shw mae Glyn,

Please go to:
Preferences (cog icon top of interface) > Untick "Enable HD Video processing (Shadow File)"

With the Power of your PC you do not need that function.

See image:

It may help and would certainly affect the functionality of your system.

Clear out all the Shadow files as well, located:
It's been a while since I had shadow edit files operating, look here: C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\CyberLink\PowerDirector\9.0

I've provided the Preview Player settings i run my PC at, opting at times for the higher HD setting.

I'm waiting for the video file to download and may comment further.

Diolch

Dafydd

Dafydd thanks for your help it is much appreciated.

I have disabled the shadow processing. I then looked to remove the shadow files but when I got down to powerdirector /9.0 I could not see any files entitled shadow files . Am I missing something ? Thee must be somewhere because when I reactivate shadow files in the menu the grren icons come straight back against each file instantly

Unfortunatly de activating the shadow process in the menu has not changed things?

Thanks

Shw mae Glyn,

I have the same issue with your files.

I will refer the thread to CyberLink on Monday.

Best I can do for the moment.

Dafydd, Glyn,

I cannot replicate on my system.

Placed 5 copies of the clip on the time line and fade (overlap & cross) between each clip. Playback is smooth to the end every time.

I also tried a mix of overlap and cross and it still plays smooth.
