I purchased PD6 to edit some movie clips. When I capture the clip from my hard drive it plays fine. But when I edit the clip, and use an in and out time I lose the sound. What can I do to fix this?

Hello. What windows version are you using? I am using Vista Home Premium and had several sound issues until I get a new driver for my sound card (onboard)... Could that be a similar issue?

Rgds!

Brian,
I have xp home edition and have had no probs capturing from dvd, in fact I did 20 or so disks when I first got PD6 because I could at last save in MPEG2 and fit them all on my hard drive, alas it's looking like the PC has a glitch. Just one shot in the dark, have you tried reinstalling the progam ?

Hi,

Trim.

I'd like you to carry out a Test.

1. Aquarium.mpg into the PD6 time-line
2. Mark the In/Out positions
3. Click the Green tick

Okay, just so you know I always use the split option, slider and the preview window keys as my first choice.

Ok I did that and the sound stayed with the clip. I am using a video file that was uploaded from a dvd. It plays fine while in the library. WhenI trim it it looses its sound.

Do you have the vob file on your hard drive or are you reading the information from a dvd disc?

Place the vob file onto your hard drive and import it into the media library.

Brian,

Can you:
open PD
Drag the Vob into the time-line
Move the slider
Select Split
Move the slider again
select Split
And delete the identified split section

What happens - does the video play with audio in the time-line?

I did that just before you posted, tried two different VOB, both worked after editing. Now why is the one I want will not work?

Poated this jsust as you replied but nevertheless...

What do you see when you look at the Audio control panel up top..
Click on the Clef Icon to see it.

What are the individual volume settings set to?

Also click on the video clip in the timeline and right-click
On the popup menu do you see visible and clickable a menu option "Restore to Original Audio Volume" If its clickable then do so.

Then run it again
