New to PD, still in trial mode. Help!
[Post New]
Hi,

New to photo Director. I am using the trial version and need just a little help. I'm just old enough so I'm not 'tech' savvy...and this program is a little confusing. I have been using Picassa, but I don't like it, so looked around for a replacment that is easy to use...actually, I was looking for a program to sort/organize my vast photo collection, which is scattered here and there on my computer...

...does PD sort/organize your photos? I have dozens & dozens of folders with sub folders (they were at one time organized, not any longer, but that's a long story)...can I have PD put all the folders/sub folders in one place? I almost always have to open a folder to see what photos are in it, and every folder has the wrong name or discription of what's in it...my photos are a mess. It'd take me a couple of weeks to sort through them all, delete duplicates, and organize them all.

Can PD do these types of things? or am I trying the wrong program...see...I am confused

Any advice/suggestions would be most welcome.

Thank you

Hi,
If you want to manage your pictures logically and need a software to categorize/tag/grade/... your pictures, you can do that in both PhotoDirector.

PhotoDirector does not organize your pictures physically. That is, moving your pictures around in your hard disk. Windows Explorer should do the job.

Try read the "Library Panel" and "Exporting Photos" sections in user guide. It has good explanation.

But still, depends on what your needs really are, I suggest you try to trials.

Regards,
Brandon

Thank you : I did read that stuff, but will go over it again...maybe it takes a few reads to fully understand it.

Appreciate your help.
