I just downloaded and installed PD yesterday (directly from Cyberlink). The program appeared to install perfectly and I started playing around a bit with it.
However, it appears that no matter what I try to do, the CPU usage soars to 95-99% and causes everything to either lock up entirely or take forever to do anything (usually, I end up with a 'not responding' message in task manager and have to close it down.)
I have a Del Vostro 420, with an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 3 GB RAM, E8400 @ 3.00 GHz and tons of room on my hard drive. I am running XP w/ SP3. From what I can tell, that meets the minimum requirements for the 32 bit application (which is what I bought). I have version 9.0.0.2930 of PD.
I've attached a screenshot of an error message I received at one point, as well as the task manager readout showing the CPU usage. I've also attached my dxdiag.txt file.
Can anyone give me any help in figuring out what I need to do to get this program to work (short of upgrading my whole computer system?).
Thanks!
Barbara
