Hi,

Can someone advise me is there any way to adjust the DVD menu background music volume when in the Disc Creation window. I have a problem with the volume as it is alot louder than the background music in my videos after disc burning.

Thanks in advance.

No.

You can not change the menu music level in the create disk module.

You could edit the actual music in the innards of PD by editing the audio file used.
PD has several default music files used in menus, each one is in it's own folder.

The "right" thing to do is to get the level of your videos up to the same level as the menu music. Or live with it.
Several ways to do that:
1: In the Audio Mixing Room, raise the audio level of your videos.
2: Extract the audio from the Video and edit the audio in an audio editor. Audacity is free.

Hi Freddie,

Carl is quite correct there is no way of adjusting the volume of the default background music in the produce disc window.
It's a pain.
If you are using your own music ( e.g, deleting the default music and introducing your own ) you can.
How I achive this is
1. Select the music you wish to use from your music library and drag it across into the 'Edit' PD9 library.
2. Drag the audio clip into the timeline and adjust the volume using the audio mixing room (F9}.
3. Produce as a music file at the volume selected into whatever output folder you decide.
4. In 'Create Disc' select the add audio button for the background music and load it from the 'Output File'.

It may take several attempts to get the volume just right.

Others on the Forum may have other suggestions.

Hopes this helps
Des

Thanks for the reply, guys.

I'll probably go round it like what Des said as it will be a more logical way for me as I have multiple clips with adjusted audio as well beside the background music.

Hope the guys at Cyberlink will do something about this. The menu volume in PD7 was able to be adjusted. Why did they disable it in PD9? only they knows.

Cheers

I just wanted to comment that it is also very inconvenient to not have a volume meter in the audio mixing room (like some other editing software has) to judge the actual level of volume and weather you'll get signal clipping/peaking once you burn your DVD or output your project. I noticed that if the volume is too high you get a clicking and popping noise as the DVD player audio output overdrives the input to the TV. Wonder if there's some other way like a 3rd part software to measure the volume output. **View profile for system specifics

There is a digital audio level meter that you can use as a reference (Does not display the actual level).
The reason it does not display the actual digital level is because it reads the volume output of your sound card and is affected by the setting of your volume control.

I use this one: This one does work in Windows 7 64 bit and I am pretty sure 32 bit.

This is a real pain! How does Cyberlink overlook this feature?

Hi CaptainBruce747,
Please start a new topic as the OP was answered back in 2011. You're asking a question and not answering. See guides at the start of the forum.
