hello again,

seems like powerdvd 11 renders subtitles of mkv files in a single line even when they are supposed to be in two or more rows, such that

this is a line
and this is another line

would be rendered as

this is a lineand this is another line

i already have posted three bugs, or so i believe. would you guys prefer that i send this through a support ticket or would posting the bugs here suffice?

thanks once more.

thanks for your response Michael.

here are the info you are requesting:

1. powerdvd 11 version 11.0.1719.51 (ultra version)
2. sr number: dvd110422-14 (powerdvd was purchased as a download)
3. tr number: tr110520-001
4. the subtitle is an srt within the mkv file.

example, the srt may contain:

2
00:00:59,601 --> 00:01:04,188
Oh, this is the first line.
And this is supposed to be the second line.

another video player would render the above as:

Oh, this is the first line.
And this is supposed to be the second line.

but powerdvd would render that as:

Oh, this is the first line. And this is supposed to be the second line.

Hi,
can you please upload the SRT - we can not reproduce the issue with the titles we have on hand, they show the Subtitle correctly in 2 lines

thanks once more for your response, michael.

i am attaching a zip file with the srt and the mkv file for your reference. the mkv file already contains the video and the srt. i am attaching the srt so you guys don't need to extract the srt from the mkv file.

i am also attaching screen shots of how powerdvd and media player classic render the subtitles.

further, if i may add, would it also be possible that powerdvd render the subtitles with the same clarity and cleanliness as how mpc does?

thanks for all your support.

I have checked the files and found that

If you place both mkv and srt in the same folder then PDVD 11 shows the subtitle in the 2 ROWS.

If you remove the srt file from the mkv folder, then PDVD 11 shows the subtitle in the single line.

that's a good observation, NovaTech, but it shouldn't work that way.

I have checked it again and found that there is no such issue with powerdvd 11. Software shows the 2 lines of text in 2 lines.
