program crashing while saving

I have been editing programs and then using "save as" to save my edited photos to another file. After four or five photos as soon as a click save as either from the pull down menu or by short cut keys the program freezes up and then shutdowns. Is anyone else having similar problems?

Hi -

Yes - confirmed here.

Up till now, I've been using the Export function, rather than Save As.

Testing a number of images, PhD consistently "stopped responding" after 5-6 "Save As" operations.

Cheers - Tony

Thanks,

Nice to know it wasn't just me. I will try using export instead an see if that works better.

Hi SNRSachse and Tony,
I can reproduce that too. I'll escalate this to product team.

Brandon

I'm seeing the same problem. Also when PHD does not crash it takes a long time to save the file - can be a minute or more!

Hi Rob -

The time it takes to complete the save (or save as) operation is partly dependent on the image resolution. Larger images take longer to process.

Here are the results of a short test I conducted with different sized photos - same adjustments applied each time, then saved as...

1. 1280x720 = 00:00:01:48
2. 2780x1520 = 00:00:01:91
3. 3840x2160 = 00:00:02:48
4. 4224x3168 = 00:00:02:97
5. 13949x3342 (stitched image) = 00:00:08:90

It's probably also related to your PC's processing power!

Cheers - Tony

Tony, Interesting data - I'm not seeing large file take that long. However, compared to other programs it is a long time. Great news that the "save as" problem is being addressed. Thanks, Rob.
