After testing the beta, I had the chance to get free PhotoDirector 2011 (thank you PhotoDirector).

The installation went well, everything was OK, I imported pictures without problem, but this morning horror, unable to import pictures, import dialog box does not appear, but if I want to export the export dialog is present.

Have you ever had this problem, how to solve it?
I uninstalled the software and after reinstalling, the problem is still present.

Yesterday I had an automatic update of Vista, is it connected?

Thank you in advance for your help

If Windows Update was not a big one, you can reverse it and see if that solves the problem. __________________________________

Thank you Jaime-esque but I'm desperate , I tried everything and still can not have the import dialog. Without being able to import photos that software is no longer anything, I was so happy.
There is not there another way to put photos in the library?
Thank you in advance for all your help Dady

I am installing Windows updates right now, so maybe we will see if anything goes wrong. Have you tried importing with both the button at the bottom of the screen and by using File > Import?

Reduce the program so that it is visible, but not full screen. Drag a picture over the program and drop it into the large preview area. Tell us if that works. Sorry, like most here I am new with this software also, but I'll try to help as much as possible. __________________________________

Yes, I tried using File> Import but no more successful for the dialog. I also try to drag the image as suggested but without success. I was even in the program to find the location of sample images that appear miraculous, I added a picture but strangely it does not appear as it is in the sample folder.
Thank you for trying to help me Dady

I used Windows Update in the USA and afterwards my computer would not even start. I had to use System Restore to remove the updates, so it is possible there is something wrong in there. I still am not having the problem that you report. Sorry. __________________________________

Thank you Brandon, I summarize my problem:

When I click on:
- Library> File> Import> Photos ..
or> Folder
or> From the device

no dialog box appears, therefore, impossible to import photos.

When installing the first software I had opened this dialog box, everything seemed OK.

A second opening anything.
Below is my screenshot
Thank you in advance for your help

1. I need the entire system info log file (DxDiag.txt) for our engineers to study.
2. Can you pls help download the attached file, CLTracker_v1620.zip. After unzipping it, double click on CLTracker.exe. It will generate a log file called CyberLinkLog.zip. Pls help upload this file to this thread too. This .exe only will collect your installed PhotoDirector 2011 app information and nothing else.

Please correct me if I misunderstood your steps:
1. Installed PhotoDirector 2011 Beta.
Run the app -> App runs fine
2. Installed PhotoDirector 2011 v1816.
- Run the app -> App runs fine
3. Update your system
- Run the app -> Import dialog cannot pop up anymore.

Regards,
Brandon

Thanks for your help.
I finally solved my problem. To do this, I delete once more the software, I tried if files relating to the software were still on my computer (I found a good number) I've removed.
I have re-installed software and miracle everything is OK Dady

Wow, that was easy, quick and hard to believe. Never occur to me that this can be resolved with simply re-installation. Shame to say: I'm still unable to reproduce what you experienced. Sad! I'm glad the mysterious issue is resolved with a miracle.

Brandon
