I was reading a post recently ( http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/17378.page#88054 ) and thought why not create a topic for users to post masks they've created to share with others.
I'll start it off

Hi,
I have tried to create a mask following the Tutu's" post but my attempts don't show up. I am running in W7- 64Bit PowerDirector9 ultra. It seems the cyberlink "mask' directory is Read only...
Does the Names have to have a number associated with them?
I create my mask files in PhotoPaint x3 and export as png file as per the dimensions specified but still not working.
Suggestions?

I can see w/o downloading, the problem.
Your mask must be a simple white png, no other colors, no other lines, just white for the shape, and transparent for the the rest of your file.
The thumbnail must be an exact, but smaller copy.
Also, I think "-" is not allowed in naming files of this type.
If you want a FRAME of a porthole, I'm sure there are many on DZone. A frame is different from a mask.

NOTE: Does anyone have the "issue" of the last custom-made mask in your menu is shown twice? This was an "issue" if I remember correctly (and I rarely do) in previous versions of PD, as in 8, maybe 7, too.
NOTE 2: I also discovered that my png's don't show properly on the forum unless I save them with Paint.net.

Hi Jim -

The porthole image you made would work fine as a PiP object (as Adrian suggested). The mask that would work with your PiP object would be a simple circle (one of the standard PD masks).

I'll gather up some masks I've made & pop them in the next post.

Cheers - Tony

What about the why the last mask in the UI is there twice?
It's not a total disaster, or course, just wonder why it would show twice. HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

I'm sorry, but this forum is not for fun.
Unless you have something meaningful to contribute I suggest you stay with Windows Movie Maker, they tend to be light-minded dullards, maybe you could become their leader...

Hi Tony,
I mentioned that I could be confused, now I am going to confirm that. I was working in the 'Pip' module experimenting with various shapes, but couldn't get a shape to hold the image/video I wanted within the shape (not particularly the portal one), I would import my shape and experiment.
Then I ran across the post that gave birth to this one, but when I tried to create as a mask my version nothing worked.
Thanks for the help.

Perhaps I am a Weber-style charismatic leader who exhibits "a certain quality of an individual personality, by virtue of which he is set apart from ordinary men and treated as endowed with supernatural, superhuman, or at least specifically exceptional powers or qualities. These are such as are not accessible to the ordinary person, but are regarded as of divine origin or as exemplary, and on the basis of them the individual concerned is treated as a leader"

Don't you think it proper to attach a few mask files to your self-aggrandizing posts? HP Envy Phoenix/4thGen i7-4770(4@3.4GHz~turbo>3.9)

I'm tempted to make a mask with the Mask converter but it didn't work here.
It was created 2 archives, .PNG and msk rename. msk to .PNG
Appears in the library but doesn't latch PD9 Software
the msk ta very large compared with the other 380kbs
Sera that convert the mask needs to be updated was done for PD7

Sorry BING translation AMD-FX 8350 / 8GB DDR3
SSD SUV400S37240G / 2-HD WD 1TB
AMD Radeon R9 270 / AOC M2470SWD

Here are some masks...

N.B. with all this sharing, it's going to be necessary to rename some masks to fit with how you've named your masks, especially if you follow the numerical method PD uses. It's important to follow the naming protocols in PD - i.e. Mask = "xyz.png", Thumbnail = "xyzThumb.png"

Re: double display of "last" mask in UI - I've noticed it varies, depending on which mask is last in the folder.

Also - occasionally (again, it varies) a thumbnail does not display accurately in the PiP Designer interface, even though the actual thumbnail is correct.

The mask converter software only works for PD7 - not PD8 or PD9. For PD9, do this: http://forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/13406.page#62937

Cheers - Tony
