I don't know if that particular package is a good deal, you have to determine that yourself.

The price is very good!

There is good Royalty free music all over the Internet. Most of it requires a license fee, but you only pay the fee one time.

I recommend you preview the package you are planning on purchasing, and base your decision on if you like the songs in the package.

Most of the Editors in this forum use all forms of Royalty free music from many sources, don't forget about Smart Sound that is built into Powerdirector. (Also Known As Quick Tracks).

Carl312, thanks for your reply.
I have Smart Sound Installed and I think it's a great compliment to PD9 but the last time I paid $14.95 was for just one sound. Ouch!
But it's probably my fault for not learning before I bought.
Is there a way to buyer cheaper from SS? EVGA (132-BL-E758-TR) X58 ATX

Yes, you can find individual songs for as little as $0.99 on the Internet, maybe not from SS.
I think all of SS individual songs are $14.95.

There is a ton of royalty free music, some is even free. It just takes a lot of searching on the Internet for "Royalty Free" music. Search without the quotes. Look into MIDI music, a great deal of MIDI is Royalty Free.

I like to buy a album (DVD) of music for one decent price. However the last two Royalty Free DVDs I bought cost me $75 for the two or $37.50 each.

Even at $14.95 from SS you get more that one song, the last one I bought from SS had six variations. I use that one on every DVD that I produce.

There is a lot of free Smart Sound songs built-in PD, some of the music is not so bad. I have used some of the free tracks.

I have used a few of SS's free tracks and I appreciate them. The stretching and contracting is just fantastic and so convenient.
Have followed your and others lists of Royalty Free music in the forum and I'm building the list. But there is never enough of the free part.
Right now I am looking for lively, happy sounds or instrumentals aside from Vivaldi, Bach, Brahms of which I have a couple of dvds. Since my present productions are strictly family I can't give them the same sounds or I fear I'll loose my meager following.

Again, thanks

Hi there -

What you're paying for is the license. The details are here... http://www.footagefirm.com/license-agreement

SmartSound music, I'm sure you understand, has a completely different structure to it that allows tracks to be "rebuilt" according to user-set durations.

Since you're producing DVDs for private viewing, purchasing licensed music isn't necessary.

One thing I like about Freeplay music is the option to search by album, style or feel. That seems like the kind of thing that might suit your needs.

Read their licensing agreement before you go posting on YouTube or distributing DVDs... http://freeplaymusic.com/index.php

Cheers - Tony
