Has anybody purchased PD9 from Ebay?
There's allot of sellers selling the software at a very good price.

TIA

I believe updates will install, but, in general, OEM versions of any software are usually expected to be supported by the hardware vendor that distributed the software. I don't know if CyberLink handles it the same way. __________________________________

Keep in mind that eBay is notorious for pirated software and PD9 has to be activated. __________________________________

I'm a little concern about the pirate issue.
I also read this in Cyberlinks update section "For PowerDirector retail and online purchase versions only."

I might just spent the +$50 for the for-sure deal.

Speaking from one who bought a pirated copy of win7 from Ebay (only $10 less than it was on Amazon by the way) I will never buy software off Ebay again. And there a few members in our forums that have had the same problem with PD and WIn7 and not just off Ebay. __________________________________________

While I don't advocate buying pirated software, official CL support is NOT a reason to purchase the real software. My personal experience is that direct CL support is worse than useless. Long delays in response and when the response comes it appears that CL engineers have not even read the problem submitted and offer recommendations that are not applicable to the problem at hand.

Support in this forum however, is wonderful and the community here is helpful and knowledgeable.

When I said pirated software I meant that I did not know it was pirated. They claimed it was legit. About a month after I installed it I got the old black screen of "this is not a valid copy of windows 7 screen. At least I got my money back, and then got it from Amazon like I should have to start with.

Yep..... we all can tell you about the CL support problems....
