DVD Burning Issues (Track Reservation Not Comeplete.)

I was recently trying to use PD9 to burn a dvd. I put a DVD-R into my DVD-RW drive, set up the menu etc. and clicked burn. At first it was fine but when it got to 21% of authorizing it stopped with an error message. I then re-tried it with "create a folder" checked. But now at 99% of authorizing it comes up with the same error message. Which says: Track Reservation Not Comeplete.

I am with you. been looking for a solution 3 weeks. I ran a tune up software last night and it came back saying my video card is the problem. Radeon 5750 1gb mem. Seems driver and PD 9 just don't like each other. Amature does it till he gets it right. A Pro does it till he can't get it wrong.

I would go get the latest driver for my Video card.

Start here select your Video card type, Series for Video Card and you OS.

ClancM and DLS;

This "track reservation..." error has been reported for a while in CL products, but I have never seen the definitive response that fixes it!! The suggestion of burning to a folder and using SOMETHING ELSE to create the DVD usually works...did you UNCHECK the "Burn to Disc" option on the Final Output section???

Can you say a little more about this process and what you got as a report?

I do agree with the need to have current drivers and I hope Carl312's suggestion of updating the drivers helps!!! CURRENT DRIVERS and newer cards are more likely to work with CURRENT PROGRAMS.

I am going out on a limb here, but I have noticed a trend indicating/suggesting that there may be issues with the "Geforce 2xx" and the "ATI 57xx" cards and PD9.

Now, this COULD be due to the fact that more users USE these cards (I used to have a GTX260...now have a GTX465), or it could be due to the age of the cards, or it could be unrelated to the cards (so everyone with their fingers on the REPLY button getting ready to "dispute" this, please back off, or be kind).

There is also the possibility that CL has noticed the problem/correlation and it will be resolved in the next patch. (Dafydd...does your telescope see far enough into space to see a patch coming, yet??).

I have more raw film to edit & I can do that with PD I have. I don't a problem looking at the saved project do you? I clear my C Drive Dailey. Go to on desk top to start-search. Type in %temp%. High lite and delete all files shown you can. Be amazed at temp files collected.

AMD hasn't developed a Windows 7 64 bit driver. Looks like they want, since all but the 5770. I clear my C Drive Dailey. Go to on desk top to start-search. Type in %temp%. High lite and delete all files shown you can. Be amazed at temp files collected.

David,
AMD does have 64 bit graphic card drivers for Windows 7. See the link to them at this page:

Thanks for the help.

Yes they do but not for the card I have. If you go down their list you will see the 5770 is not one that has been updated to Windows 7 64bit.

I believe this is the driver file and cap I have downloaded and loaded a few times before, but I don't it some many times. Now I am confused.

Purchased a GTX 460 card that PD and GTX have a driver that works. Hopefully that will solve my problem.

I have been editing lots of raw video and saving to projects. I am hoping to get the new card iinstalled Monday and try and burn Disc then.

I will let the forum know the results. Amature does it till he gets it right. A Pro does it till he can't get it wrong.

I have AMD 5770 video chipset, I am running the Catalyst Version 11.5 on Windows 7 64 Bit.
See my sig.

That driver is working great on my computer. I also have the AMD Media Codec Package (Avivo) which enables hardware encoding. It is a separate download in Optional Downloads Tab. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

Reloaded Software Catalyst Version 11.5 on Windows 7 64 Bit. Also a Patch release update, which had AMD Media Codec Package (Avivo) in the update.

I cleaned out all temp files %temp%, over 250, and windows, 18. deleted files out of the trash can. Ran CClean. dumped again. Rebooted. Reloaded PD sftw.

Ran small project 22min. hung, task mgr says PD running but no CPU usage, at 90% showing 1sed time remaining and Time elapsed 1:30:22 .

Tech support said before if it hung here, it was a driver issue and load a better/newer Driver.

Hope the GTX 460S solves the problem. Shows arrival tomorrow. UPS about 2pm. Will let you know. Amature does it till he gets it right. A Pro does it till he can't get it wrong.

yes.
Stamge where it hangs. 30% sometimes. 51 52 sometimes. Then, what really frustrates me is when it hangs at 90%.

Am I correct in assuming if I get PD working only deleting and reloading PD and CClean, that my projects, if I hadn't moved anything, should be able to be used?

Or

Can I use the projects I haven't created DVD to Creat DVDs? Amature does it till he gets it right. A Pro does it till he can't get it wrong.

Uninstalling and re-installing Powerdirector will not cause to lose any of the current projects unless the project file is messed up.

If the current project file is a part of the problem, you may have to start a new project. Carl312: Windows 10 64-bit 8 GB RAM,AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4 GHz,ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB,240GB SSD,two 1TB HDs.

I think the Project file is OK. Where sftw hangs doesn't seem to be project related.
I do appreciate you!
When I get the card installed, I will let you know the results.
I ran PD 8 without a problem with the 5770. When sftw didn't hang I was so happy with the reduction in creating time savings.
Looking forward to having the solution.
I went to GTX web site this morning. They have a new card coming out with 2gig o memory for $79. You know what they say, never look at PC stuff after you purchased.
