Please someone help, is there a setting or something im missing.

720p works fine but it just doesn't like 1080p or the fact my setup is all hdmi 1.4

Can no one offer any help for me here? I have researched so much into this and really do need help. I am beginning to think that buying a HD6450 was the wrong decision cause despite it's hdmi 1.4 slot on AMD's HD3D requirements it doesn't list my card even though on the packaging it says amd hd3d ready and designed for 3D.

Any help suggestions or ideas is greatly appreciated or even if people could provide evidence of working 3D blurays on ATI setups.

PowerDVD 11 should work with HDMI1.4 1080p 3D TV sets.

Could you contact AMD to make sure the compatibility first? Not only your card is not listed, I can't find your Samauns LE46C750 either.

LN46C750 is listed though and I believe that is the same TV.

I have contacted AMD but havnt received a reply yet so will just have to wait for their feedback.

AMD have said generally we recommend a 68/69 series card for 3D content but that was reference to gaming as well so just for movie playback my card is capable. Do you have any idea what else it could be if my gfx card, tv & glasses all support 1080p 3D?

Hi M Kelbie. Are you running your PC through an AMP (Via HDMI) before the TV? I had the same issue, upgraded my Video Card to an AMD (To support HDMI 1.4 - same issue) and I found the AMP was stripping away the 3D info. I have to run directly into the TV for the 3D to work. Sony KDL-55HX925

Ati 6xxx models are indeed HDMI 1.4 compilant and 3d Bluray compatible as clearly stated on Ati website.
Please look into this issues, atm is not possible for us ATI owners to playback 3d bluray content in HDMI 1.4 mode.

Hello Micheal, sorry if i didn't post more details: that's because my setup is pretty similar to OP and following guys. Please take two minutes to read following i think there will be all the info you need.
i'm using a
e8400
4gb ram
a brand new HD 6450
going via hdmi to a UE55C9000SPXZT.
OS W7Ultimatex64

I get this error using Extended mode, clone mode and even using my 3D panel as only monitor!

The only way to have some kind of 3d working is setting 3d Lcd + glasses instead of hdmi 1.4, from there the resolution changes automatically to 720p (i found a workaround for that by enabling GPU scaling that will allow me to go 1080 even tho i'm not sure it's a native format rather then an upscaling and, also, when doing this i have black borders alla around the image on the tv and i'm not obv talking about normal letterbox )

I also got this problem with all 11.5 drivers 11.4 and older works thought.

I have set my tv to primary display and use 11.4 drivers then it will show 3d blurays in full hd 24hz (make sure you haven't set gpu scaling for your tv in ccc because then thinks go bad

I tried a clean w7 installation using 11.4 catalyst drivers but i'm still not able to output trough hdmi 1.4

same problem

with ATI HD6850


I got "unable to start 3d playback on this device, please try another one"
when I try to use 3d hdmi1.4

but when i switch to gt520 3d work fine

a year ago i bought into all the 3d hype, buying a optoma dw318 and some optoma 3d glasses and an ati 5850 gfx card
the 5850 was marketed as atis new card with 3d support. these were complete lies on atis behalf they kept promising the
drivers through iz3d but none of us in various 3d forums could get it to work.
so 2 months later i bouhgt an nvidia 260 and the 3d vision kit and amazingly it worked in my 3d games

i have always preferred ati cards for being better value than nvidia but when it comes to drivers forget ati.
at least nvidia give some support through their forums and generaly their drivers work

a word of advice if you do go for the nvidia route their glasses are crap giving flashes throughout the 3d experience
but using the optoma glasses and the nvidia usb reciever dongle thing is much better , even though the optoma glasses are made of brittle plastic and broke in the first week.
i have just sold the 5850 and have lost £100 in a year all because i believed ati
im going to upgrade to a nvidia 560ti as the 260 only just works on demanding games in 3d.

the good news is the nvidia setup also works with powerdvd 11 in 3d as i just got tron working!

a word of warning for anyone going down this 3d route is you will spend all your time faffing with settings, more than
you will spend actually watching or playing in 3d, trying to get better pop out or depth.
let alone the it tech skills required, ie on my projector i had to pull out pins from the dvi plug to fool my pc into believing
it was connected to an acer projector so then i could install acer drivers which are nvidia 3d ready compliant
where as the optoma drivers aren't.

Lastly i would recommend a projector over a lcd led or plasma screen as you only really get depth with a screen no pop out,
and off putting ghosting.
maybe worth waiting for affordable 1.4 hdmi 1080p 3d projectors to hit the market, my optoma dw318 is 720p but was only £400 a yr ago but because of only 1.3 hdmi is not compatale with my ps3 for 3d, unless i buy an optoma add on 1.4 converter box for £250.
