Hi.
This should be a quick and painful answer coming my way.

In the preview window (top right by default) I'm getting stuttered playback at Higher preview quality.

But playback is fine when choosing normal quality. Which component in my PC would most likely be causing this
issue RAM? GPU? or processor speed ?.

My spec is as follows:

Win 7 Home 64
Asus P5q Deluxe
Intel 2 Quad 9550
DDR2 8Gb Ram
ATI Radeon 4890 EAH
1 TB HD

Thankyou

Quick answer is..... painful

Yes it will even if you have a great computer. It is rendering your video as it previews. The more motion items/titles, and stuff you have the more it does it.

However when you render or produce it will be fine normally. You get used to it, but if it really bothers you then lower your preview resolution and look at the jaggies knowing it will be fine anyway. I preview in normal resolution. Looks crappy but after many years of looking at it, I don't really notice anymore. I am more worried that my transition work the way I modify them looking at them in lower resolution going smoothly than looking at them all nice and pretty and jerky.

You wont be able to do anything about it to improve it that much.

Ok, so even if I were to have say two Asus 6950's running in crossfire, The preview rendering wouldn't be improved?.

Thanks for replying.

Crossfire wont help you with PD9. Single GPU.

Thanks Dafydd

I'm not going to be wasting money on new hardware, when it's going to make little if any improvements on PD9 preview rendering.
