Black rectangle covering PowerDVD 11 window

PowerDVD 10 worked well. Upgraded to PowerDVD 11 and now am unable to use product at all. A black rectangle obscures 80% the PowerDVD window. Have updated Win7-64 drivers to current for Radeon 5870 and installed latest K-lite Mega codec pack with no improvement. Have no patience to use the technical staff who neither actually reads the problem description nor understands basic English. Has anyone had this problem and found a work-around?

Please also make sure to have installed the latest versions of your Graphics Adaptor and Audio.

You may also try to uninstall the PowerDVD and make a clean new installation:
1. Uninstall PowerDVD from System Applet (if you see problem with uninstall proceed with step #2)
2.1 delete the folder "c:\Program Files\CyberLink\PowerDVD x" [x=8,9,10]
3. reboot the PC or Notebook
4. reinstall PowerDVD
5. start and activate when asked for
6. install the latest Patches
All above Done

Just click on the rectangle and hit the ESC button on your keyboard. Should get rid of it for now.

Yes, it does. However, PowerDVD stops working immediately after clicking on any of the folder tabs...

Oh you are right! What's wrong with PowerDVD 11. And the 3D Blu-ray does not work with the new nvidia drivers.

Any update on this one? Am experiencing the same issue on a similar setup as mentioned, but with an Nvidia 8800 GTX GPU.

Anyone found a solution on this one yet? I've done multiple reinstalls and had zero luck. Product is basically unusable because of this.

I've just started having this problem with the trial version. It started when I added a new sound card(Creative Labs SB0886 PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional Series Sound Card) and disabled the onboard sound. My system is new(HP) and running ATI graphics card (AMD Radeon™ HD 6450 Graphics). The HP Blue ray player works great. I've updated all drivers and re-installed the trial. Software still doesn't work. Power DVD is a great product (When it works). I was ready to buy it but not now. Hope this can get fixed. I have submitted a IR. QuestionID = CS001020345.

JSYK... I just installed the 5/27 patch to bring PDVD11 to build 1719. After rebooting, I still have the black rectangle problem!
