If I buy this and choose download, will I be able to make a backup copy on disc?

I hope to be involved in these forums soon once I purchase.

Thank You!

Hi

Welcome to the forum :

Before you download - try the trial version first to see if your computer can handle PD9.

If your computer 'likes' PD9 and you decide to purchase the full version there are two file (one is the program and the other is the content pack).

Use the save function and save to your C drive.

You can then copy these to a DVD disc. A CD disc does not have the memory storage due to the size of the program.

Yes the purchased product includes the content pack (this contains DVD menus, particles etc etc).

Please try the trial version first though.

Yes - both installation files are included. The program PD actually runs without the contact pack installed, but you don't have so many templates for menus, PiP objects, titles etc.

just as Neil said!

Cheers - Tony

I did have the trial on here a couple months ago and deleted when I decided to try Sony Vegas.

When I log into Cyberlink, click member at the top, then "manage my products" it shows a product I registered a while back on an older computer "PowerProducer 3.7". Under that it says "upgrade to PowerDirector 9".

When I click upgrade it brings me to a page to select "Upgrade from v.7/8 non-retail version" or "v. 7/8 retail version".

Does it matter which one I chose? (retail upgrade is cheaper)
Is this the same product as the Full Version?

Is it giving me the upgrade price based on me having PowerProducer 3.7?

I had PowerProducer 3.7 which is NOT a 7/8 version & that software is not on this new computer.

Will I need that old software need to be on this computer to do the upgrade or will it give me to upgrade based on my account?

Sorry for all the questions.....Just want to make sure I don't pay first and have issues later. I've been reading posts that customer support can be a nightmare!

Thanks again,

Shawn

As far as I know the difference between retail and non retail is for people who are using a copy of PD that came free with their DVD, Computer etc as against a retail version they bought themselves.

Although looking again at your post it appears that you can only use the upgrade option if you have PowerDirector 7 or 8 on your computer.

Power Director is very cheap for what it does so I would just go with the normal purchase to save hours of frustration if the upgrade doesn't work. My youtube channel====> http://www.youtube.com/user/relate2?feature=mhsn
